Harm Reduction Is this at all safe?

Im going throught benzo w/d. I just dropped my dose from 60 mgs of valium to 50 mgs today. Im going through hell and am anxious as shit and cant think straight so im asking a noob question or 2.

My question(s) is if i take 50 mgs of valium at say 6am can i take a 30 mgs codeine when i get home from work at 530pm? just to take the edge off?

Question 2- Can i take 50 mgs valium and 30 mgs of codiene at the exact same time say at 6am when i wake up and be ok?

Im very tolerant to benzos, but have no tolerance to opiates. Im just looking for a minor buzz to take the edge off and want to be safe. i will not be exceeding the numbers written.

btw i called my pharmacist and they said it was ok.

So my only question is can i take the valium and Codiene at the exact same time and be ok?
 
It won't cause you any initial, direct, physiological harm, but in the long-run you may just end up becoming addicted to opiates. If you must, I would take another GABAergic, not an opiate.

thanks for the info, i just want to take them 12 hours apart and not die of respitory depression.

or take them together and stop breathing and die.

The reason im not taking another GaBAergic is because i dont want to cause anymore damage to that part of my brain. I have been a benzo addict for 8 years and tbh am tired of them. I only take them because i have to. The are not fun at all anymore. I want off them and any other GABA active drug. Also i will never take a GABA active substance (maybe a couple beers from time to time) again.
 
If I were you, I'd simply use a SLOWER tapering method. Be disciplined and just drop 1 or 2 mg a week, you won't suffer as much, if at all. Ask your doc to prescribe the 2 mg diazepam tabs, and just be patient and dedicated.

I'll raise Nymph's what with a what what? I thought it took at least 10 years of treatment with opioids to cause neurological problems!
 
I can't speak to the safety of the combination but 30mg of codeine by itself is a pretty low dose.
 
Yep, unless you have an extreme hypersensitivity or are already on the verge of CNS-depressant induced death, 30 mg of codeine if nothing to worry about in terms of respiratory depression.

As Ho-Chi-Minh mentioned, the main problem is the (high) risk of simply substituting one addiction for another. Whilst an addiction to codeine if (in most cases) massively 'better' than a 60 mg vallium habit, the resulting down hill road to more severe opiates may well not be...

Their results are interesting.
 
If you have someone who can take your pills and assist you with a taper, it will be very helpful. Few have the willpower to complete a successful taper.

Accept that this is going to suck, but the end result is worth it!

To answer your question, I believe that combination to be perfectly safe ( not so for a benzo naive person). Like stated already, be mindful of your use of codiene and take a mental inventory once in awhile tomake sure you don't end up with a new habit. GL
 
thanks for alll the the replies, i took 40 mg codiene and my 50 mg of valum and smoked some smoke amazing weed. All was good. gonnna take 45mg of codiene today and then take a break.
