Opioids Is this a safe mix?

So I know there may be a few people who want to say "your fuckin stupid don't mix that" but honestly it's gonna be a one time thing, I've done it before just with different amounts.

Here's what I plan on mixing in the morning.

-Vicodin 5mg hydro, 500mg Tylenol
-Xanax (Alprazolam) 1mg

Is it safe to take then both at the same exact time? I know that this is the closest feeling I can get to heroin, without actually going back to dope.
 
CNS depressant combos are risky, but that dose is low. Just do not over do it and do not drink alcohol or redose multiple times a day or within a short period of the last dose. Look into the half life of each compound to see when the major activity dies down to figure out when it is safe to re-dose.

Also, I barely remember when it's like. Will the Xanax potentiate the effects of the Vicodin?
 
yes it will. quite nicely too, do you have a tolerance to either? i hate to say it, in the sense of harm reduction, but that is a verrry low dose, even with no tolerance. imo, i would up it to 10 mgs of the vikes, and do .75 mg xannies
 
I don't have much of a tolerance for either. When I do painkillers I only do 10mg hydro and I usually take a bar of Xanax. So I figured Ima be feeling pretty good. I really wanna nod fuckin hard. I hope i do lol
 
take more vicodin if you want a good nod. i find that mixing a lot of xanax ruins my nod moment and experience completely.
 
I don't know if you are trying to feel good off the 5mg hydro or if its for pain. Even when i was 15 1 hydro just doesnt cut it, you need at least a dose of 7.5mg or above. And trust me low doses of drugs hit me, just 5mg NEVER allows me to feel anything euphoric. So id up the hydro to 10mg and maybe lower the xanax to .5mg?
 
The OP is not asking for suggestions for a dose to hit a nodd, but asking if what they are doing is not going to kill them. Suggesting the OP to change his dose to get a high is not just the opposite of harm reduction being harmful, but also against the rules as there are no "What should I take threads," which those suggestions turn this into.

Stick with your dose if it works for you.... Ignore these people that just want to get high and can't so they advise others to do what they wish they could. It is better to do what you know than what random people over the net who barely know you think you should do.

I have actually been around for a few year although really only when relevant discussions come up on google. As well as I reduce harm in terms of drug use all around me ; ) I even got my friends to stop smoking with butane lighter* and use hemp wick as well as seek vaporizers and really make sure they only buy quality weed rather than garbage... Although they still smoke the garbage that's unflushed that they get for free rather than make edibles or something, but w.e it is their lungs they are destroying.

Edit: * added that for clarification as I forgot to add it and it looked like I got people to stop smoking tobacco

How'd you get your friends to stop smoking tobacco? Please get me to quit.

@OP, mixing benzodiazepines with opioids doesn't make hydrocodone feel like heroin. Also, many users report diminished euphoria and less positive effects upon concurrent administration of benzodiazepines with their opioids. You're depressing your central nerve system, and yeah the doses your taking right now aren't very high, and are often prescribed concurrently therapeutically for legitimate purposes. However, when your dosing is inevitably increasing due to tolerance, please remember that while you develop tolerance to the drugs themselves, you do not develop tolerance against respiratory depression, and the goal is to wake up in the morning.

Quit your quest for CNS depressant combinations. This combination kills people and should be taken seriously.
 
agreed with tricomb. although i frequently use the two together - i have had a few very unpleasant and scary experiences using both together.

always start out low. your doses are relatively low, but the xanax will most likely overpower the 5mg of hydro.
if it were me and you were instant on using both, i'd take 0.25 of xanax. remember, you can always add more but never take away from your system.

benzos can increase the euphoria, but can also blunt out some effects of the opiates too, and there is a point at which it dulls out the experience all together and can be fatal.

not to mention the horrible withdrawal from benzos ontop of opiates too.

i honestly wish i had never tried the combination. frankly using just opiates on their own were much more euphoric than using them benzos - but now i have the urge to use benzos at the same time, simply because of bad habits.
 
^right, I honestly feel that benzo's pretty much ruin the effects of almost all opiates, the only two that seem to improve with benzodiazepine's are methadone and buprenorphine (unfortunately, the more dangerous ones as well). I understand that your going to do it, but I'm just wondering why you dont just take 10mg of hydrocodone and get a legitimate opiate high (since your tolerance is low)?

Anyway, like others said, just don't up the dose of either one if you're going to mix them. If you stick to the ammounts you listed here you should be fine, just steer clear of potentiator's (grapefruit juice, Diphenhydramine, Tagamet, etc..)
