Is there hope for me?

i dunno. i doubt anyone here is helping him. he's delusional. his life experiences are just a symptom of this. this isnt your average internet-hermit with a limp body who needs to just eat better, work out and go out more. i think he's either a troll [in the internet sense] or an actual, real life troll [or at least half-troll, or orc maybe]. shut this thread down before it gets into my dreams

Whether he follows this advice will determine how the rest of his life will go. Yeah, his story is fucking pathetic, no argument there, but I can't stand to watch someone think that steroids will solve all their problems. I think he is save-able, but mental counseling and at least a GED is in order before he gets into serious lifting routines. It's sad to see these posts, but when you look at the grandiosity on the first page and the blatant laziness, you start to feel a bit less empathetic and more angry than anything else. Regardless, I hope he does follow a real natural routine and sees some results someday.

He even said that he all sees us as internet beings and not people. That's kind of weird, and sort of hints at mild schizophrenia. If he can stick to a routine and gain 10 good pounds then he will gain some respect from me. Whether it's the net or real life, I give respect where it is due. If he continues this useless path, he will be just another burden on society who is sadly, much better off dead to stop wasting other people's air. It all depends on his choices.

Or, he's just an internet troll and we've all wasted our time. :)

Paying for an education doesn't make someone educated. I'm a high-school dropout with a GED and 9/10ths of an AS degree. I may not professional/ceo material but I would care less. I do a lot of my learning reading books and studying others with my "outsider perspective" =D.

In my own warped reality I'd say going to school is lazy. You're basically paying for someone to tell you to buy an expensive textbook, tell you to read it, review what you have read and then test you on the material. No effort. No thinking involved. People have this delusion that school is about education - and not what's it's really about (MOVING ON UP TO THE EASTSIDE). If school was solely about education - classrooms would be empty.

I just wanted to get that out there.

I disagree with the system as well. I agree with you that sometimes the financial aspect gets so over-stressed that people forget the reason why they're there in the first place. In the end, it's all about money. Trying to learn because you actually want to is an awesome thing to do, but nobody is going to take studies like this seriously if they aren't backed up with credentials. It's sad, but it's true, unfortunately. All that matters are the numbers on the report card and the cash in your bank account. Not the knowledge. Wish it wasn't like this but it will never change.

Yeah, it's possible to luck out, or just kick it into extra high gear right before the end, but for the majority of the population, higher education will translate to a better income and a better social standing in general. For a random internet person that we don't know personally, I would definitely not recommend staying out of school, assuming he's an average guy. (With the exception of being a recluse on steroids almost literally, Lol.) Having low test levels with low money in your pocket is a fast track to 6 feet under.
voxide your posts have the most jarring mix of merciless contempt and tender empathy. have you been hitting the roids?
%)

Thank you guys for the continuous posts I read them all carefully and they are helping me definitely to think things through and motivate me.

That's my primary problem now motivation, I have started some basic stuff now I do 20 curls with a 10lb dumbell, 15 pushups, 30 sit ups, 100 jumping jacks, but after I finish I feel so bad and sick like throwing up and my skin is tingling and burning everywhere it's really hard to motivate myself to go through all that again the next day.

Is this normal after working out to feel so terrible like your going to die and is it something that goes away or is it because of my newbieness or something you have to get used to and endure? Its hard to imagine people doing this for fun if its always like this.

I'm now reading the Rippetoe Starting Strength 3 x 5 Beginner Program that someone mentioned thank you it looks very useful.

About the little arguments going on about Voxide and such no worries I am taking it as constructive criticism and appreciate it as well.

I'm feeling a little better already I'm just worried if I can stick to this and if it will get easier with time anyone got some information on why I'm feeling so terrible after whats only a beginner workout 1x a day?

Don't go too crazy, now. You should train hard but not to the point of near death, especially since your body isn't used to it. Most people who train their first time don't feel like that, but you gotta remember that you're..."different" than other people.

Slowly work your way up. You will get more and more comfortable doing basic shit such as push ups as time goes on. If you continue these good habits, you will actually start to feel like shit if you DONT do push ups. Ha. Imagine that %) If a muscle is sore the next day, don't train it again. Doing home workouts will only get you so far. Do something about your anxiety problem, get enough cash together for a cheap gym membership, and do as much research as your free time allows.

now that youre mentoring weaklings, voxide, i have a question. whats a decent weight to be lifting if your normal pushup session is say ~30, and chinups ~10? im out of shape, but i think id bounce back pretty quick. what are your thoughts? be my mentor, Voxide. this is your new calling: coaching battered, egoless modernized freakazoids :D

I would begin with a lighter weight and increase it as you find necessary.

It all varies due to an individuals ratio of type 1: type 2 muscle fibers. There may be people who can do less push ups than you, but still be able to use a higher weight to max with, vice versa.

You're going to have exercises that you're gonna like better than others. I prefer incline over bench, for example. It's important to remember that each muscle is crucial. Flat bench will still have to be done, whether you like it or not. 10 chin ups is pretty good for being out of shape. Hell, I know plenty of "in-shape" people that struggle with them. Lat pulldowns are basically the machine equivalent of doing pull ups. If you don't have a gym membership, get one as soon as possible. It is truly impossible to take your body to the next level using prison-style techniques. I don't know any of your stats, but using the bar with no weight at all is best to test a motion and how your body reacts to it. Slap on plates accordingly. Don't do anything stupid, like completely ignoring form just to get the weight up. The muscle needs to be hit hard and isolated. That is much more important than bragging about how much weight you moved. Good luck.

Bodybuilding is not a science, contrary to popular belief. You work hard, and you get results. It's easy. Putting on lean mass and shedding fat is a direct input-output relationship. If you're slacking, don't expect to get anywhere.

Then train hard and naturally, and use health as a motivation. It doesn't matter how good you are at preparing and running cycles. Training natty will always be healthier in the long term.

ua'd off topic posts.

keep it on topic and civil thanks guys otherwise the thread will be locked and posters reprimanded if it continues down this path.

thanks.

Don't listen to Vioxide. Doing Calisthenics at home are a workout, but just like you said I hate the way they make you feel. I can't explain it, but after doing some pushups to failure on my living room floor and then I get up, I hate the feeling I have in my house.

You need to get to a gym. High school football was the greatest thing ever. If you had a coach that knew what he was doing. You could get up for a 6am lift with all your buds, all on the same routine and it just feels different.

Calisthenics and lifting are very different to me. I would highly suggest getting to a gym and getting on a lifting routine. I love football lifts and I would recommended it, but do what you want. Stick to a routine, ROUTINE is the key word. Eventually you will come to love it.

Yeah, don't listen to the dude with 5000x more credibility than you do. 8)

Love how you dug this thread from the grave just to post that bullshit. Don't forget, you just said "eating doesn't get you big" a few posts earlier. I'd sooner listen to my morning shit in the toilet than you when it comes to training. Prison training alone will NOT give you the results you seek, nor will it give them to you in a reasonable time frame. A combination of both is best. I really do want you to point me in the direction of where I stated any inaccurate information whatsoever. Your attempt to condescend is hilarious to me. Don't get all butthurt because I told you what you didn't want to hear in your pathetic m-drol thread. Call me an insolent prick. Call me an arrogant asshole. Call me a muscle-headed douche, but don't ever tell me I don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to training or nutrition and the like.

I agree with every word you just said. My point is your being more of an asshole then helping him. I'm not going to try to elaborate what I said because your just going to twist my words. Why not just help people out with their questions instead of trying to be an english major/philosopher/everything you just called yourself.

We already established that I'm being harsh with him, because harsh advice is the only kind of advice people listen to. The guy actually started to at least get on a mild routine, though I can't prove it was because of me, obviously. When you go back and read what Tazer posts, you might feel a bit less sympathetic. I know that you don't agree with my downright asshole tone in parts of this thread, but tell me in all honesty: Am I wrong to defend my point so vehemently when there is a schizotypal stick figure in here who wants to run steroids without even working out, believing it will fix his severe anxiety/social problems? People like him do not need "help" over a fucking internet forum, bro. They need trained professionals and a good [metaphorical] kick in the ass. As you can see, this thread is not really about helping a newbie with a new workout plan, which can also be found with a simple search on google.

Excellent. :X

I'll prepare his "treatment", and you drive. We're going to show him Russian Papa's method of treating Western Pansy syndrome. %)

[that is, if he weren't a Troll, which he blatantly is. :\]
