i have never taken e before and i just bought a bomb with my friends.. after reading this site im afraid it could be dxm or something... is there another way to test it without buyin a kit cause i was planning on taken it soon...

The only GOOD and COMPLETELY SAFE way to test pills is to use an EZ-test kit.
This is my method: Not recommended, but better than nothing at all.
-check pill reports, on dancesafe, BL, etc. to keep track of what's good
-look for pills you've heard of or you know personally to be good
-learn what E tastes like! Remember! Yeah, it's bitter, but it has a VERY distinct taste (I can taste-test for E, and I've never been wrong).
-when you get a pill, before you take it, stick out your tongue and simply place the pill on your tongue... within 4-5 seconds, you WILL feel the burn if it's real E, and the faster it burns, the stronger the pill. If it doesn't burn, get your money back.
-bite a small piece of it off and chew it up... this will be more than enough to give you the full taste of the E. If it doesn't taste like E, don't eat it. Don't just check for a bitter taste... White Stars (star-shaped) are very bitter, but they're pure DXM. E tastes like E.
-chew your pill a little when you take it... if anything seems wrong with it, don't trust it.
-If there is E in your pill, it's probably OK; the only exception I've heard is from Phreex' post that some white hearts have(some kind of opiate, I don't remember) that is active in small doses, as well as the E, but there isnt' much E in it, so it wouldn't taste like a great pill.
If you haven't done enough E to be able to test your pills like that, then don't do it. And remember, don't just take other people's word on it; if you're a BLer, you likely know a lot more about E than they do, anyway.
**disclaimer** This is NOT really a safe way to test pills, but it's how I test mine, I trust myself to be right, and I've never been wrong. As I said in the beginning, it's not an EZ-test, but it's better than nothing.

TLC plates are MUCH more specific as to the EXACT compound, however, they are a bit harder to interpert - it isn't as easy as a color change .. they are also harder to get then a damn test kit .. but if you know what your doing, you can tell EXACTLY what is in your pill ..

You can buy TLC plates from many more places online or in a major then you can find EZ test kits.
With TLC plates you need to spray the plate with the marquis reagent to observe color change, or use a blacklight, or both. Otherwise theres nothing observable. This color test is far more acurate then just dropping some reagent onto a scraping, scince the drugs would have crept up the plate whereas the starch, lubricants, etc. in the pill owuld not have.

I have a question...
what would you use to spray a liquid that is 90% sulphuric acid and 10% Formaldehyde?

Quirks, do you have some good references for MDA/MDMA/MDE Rf-values in different solvent systems? I have seen only one article in Journal of Chromatography and it didn't carry MDE.

Hello!
This forum is exactly what I have been searching for - as I am very curious as to how one would test for a bad e pill. I did post a topic on the Medical Q&A (really, I don't know why I just didn't notice this forum first!). The reply I got from one of the moderators, was to check out the site www.ez-test.com, which I did. It was quite fascinating. However, as I replied to him, I am in South Africa and the two currencies mentioned (with respect to purchasing a test kit), were the Euro and the US Dollar, not our Rand! I don’t suppose anyone would know of where I may be able to purchase a similar test here, in SA?
Or is there is another kind of test I may conduct, without a special kit? I hope I don’t sound too ignorant here, but would it be possible to check for good quality pills, by merely looking at the pill, smelling it, perhaps even tasting it? I read with keen interest, the response posted by Windowlicker on 18 May 2000. The problem (in my case) is that I am the quintessential neophyte here – I have not tried e (yet) – I’m just trying to gather as much information as possible.
The press here in South Africa often contains reports of e-pills cut with other substances, like heroine, or other carcinogenic/ toxic substances. And so even though I am very curious to experience what a trip on e is all about (and which I have heard so much about), I am concerned about ending up with a bad pill, which is going to result in complications and side effects, I would rather do without, if I can help it.
Thank you

if you havent already i suggest you go the visit the "new to xtc" forum, there's a heap of good info there, including the FAQ on e myths like "heroin in pills"
and yes just email aj and he canprobably work out a payment systen for you. no other simple method other than a marquis reagent test like ez test can guarentee you a good pill...

Good-morning! :-)
Thank you both for the reply – it’s much appreciated!
I will visit the “new to XTC” forum. About heroine in e being a myth – I was under the impression (as a result of my “research” – consisting mainly of reading resources like newspapers, some web sites etc, and listening to the experiences of others) - that certain manufacturers deliberately do this in order to create a physical addiction in users, thereby ensuring that people will (as a result of that physical addiction) be more inclined to sustain the market for MDMA or e. On a more macabre level, I suppose this makes shrewd business sense! I have to admit though, this really – well, lets just say that it gave me significant pause for thought – in a nutshell, it really scared me!
Is it naive of me to expect to get a real e pill? Should I take for granted that whatever I buy, will necessarily be cut with other substances? And if not addictive stuff, like heroine, then maybe other potentially dangerous substances (enabling the pill to be more cheaply manufactured, by not including the correct amount of e required for a good quality pill)?
And just because a dealer may use the same product that he sells, could this be considered proof enough that the pill is ok (because I know of people who think so)?
I’ve even heard of fatal cases involving e. Not too long ago, the papers were filled with the story (described in the most horrific and disturbing detail) of a 16 year old boy here, who had OD’ed on e (and he was suspected of using heroine as well) at a local rave. I suppose these are the reasons why I want to make sure that when I do experience e, I want a good pill.
Well, thank you again for the suggestions,
schainne

Which one is harder to use: a TLC plate or an E test kit? I've only taking General Chemistry 1045 so my lab experience is limited, but my concern for my safety is not. Have we found a URL for a site to order TLC plates yet? Please advise. Thanks!
