Ive tripped off ambien between 60-100 times and the last couple times i tried to trip i literally didnt feel anything but a bit of laughter when i took doses in excess of 90mg. Ive even waited months between trips and it still doesnt do it for me..

id say there is, but only from experience. last time i took ambien i snorted 20mg and it only made me a little wobbly for 2 minutes then i was sober. this was after a year break or so. its definitely not the same as it used to be :(

...if you'd ever tried zolpidem you'd know how awesome it is. It is MUCH better than DPH or Zolpidem will give you weird trippy dreamlike trips that can very intense and amazing feeling.

@OT make sure you have an empty stomach and I find insufflation to be much much better than oral. I'm not sure though, I don't know how you wouldn't feel 90mg.

I did feel 90mg but i wasnt NEARLY as fucked up as i should have been. 90mg would usually make me hallucinate harder then 10 hits of acid hands down

Given that zolpidem acts via the same way benzodiazepines do (just much more selectively), I would say there's no "trip limit", but you do reach a point where you've built such a tolerance that even large doses will only buzz you for a bit. It's not like you'll wake up one day and find yourself unable to trip, either - it's a gradual thing caused from long term abuse.

Ambien, though it is not a "true psychedelic", is somewhat safer and pharmacologically more pleasing/"fun" than tripping on antihistamines (or for many people, tripping on DXM). Don't knock it - not everyone can smoke DMT recreationally when they want to.

in my experience, zolpidem causes nothing one could really call "trip". it is more like an alcohol intoxication with severe risk of heavy memory loss and inappropriate behaviour, and therefore, not safe at all. I strongly recommend against using it as a recreational drug, especially at insanely high doses as 90 mg. IMHO DXM is a MUCH better choice to trip, as it is a true dissociative.

There are many people who experience some bizzare form of "trip" off of ambien, as well as Z-drugs. It's nothing like the good trips that real psychedelics provide (or at least, that's the majority opinion - I've never seen any hint of a trip off them, but I haven't pushed the dosage, because I'm trying to save my benzo tolerance for other purposes).

I suspect that the reason for the diminished effects the OP is experiencing is down to simple tolerance. Benzos and Z-drugs build tolerance fairly rapidly, and if you've taken it that many times, unless you've been using it for many years, I would definitely expect you to have built up a large tolerance by now. You should take a long break (months) from Ambien, as well as other Z-drugs and benzodiazepines if you want to get the same effects you used to from it. I would strongly recommend against escalating the dose, as benzo addition and tolerance is Bad News.

i love ambien and the fun that higher doses brings, one of my favorite recreational/nighttime things to do. but i wouldnt say its a trip

I always thought it felt like a low dose of DOI with a little bit of alcohol at a dose of around 30mg. I never really like this shit, I'm sticking with Lucy.
