Hey everyone, I am currently and have been on suboxone for a couple months and I always take my my dose, less as possible because I dont want to get too high of a dose.. anyways, for some reason.. idk if anyone else has these or experiences this as well but I frequent some mild hot flashes on most days. (correct me if i'm wrong, which i probably am, but i thought i read hot flashes are a result of a change in blood pressure or something like that?)
For example, lots of times when I was at work, back in classes now, I got hot flashes while working.. the office building was a little hot and humid, but I could tell that it wasn't just from being hot. Also while around the house, or if I am driving to my therapist, which my dad likes to drive me since he wants to do everything he can to help me, I get them and I always ask him " is it hot in here or is it just me" and he says he is cold while i have my window open from being hot or whatever.
So i was wondering if there is any specific medication for hot/cold flashes? I was planning on going to my GP and telling him I get hot flashes randomly, and he knows of my suboxone, and I was hoping to maybe get prescribed something for the hot flashes while im on suboxone. The way i can tell they are hot flashes and not just me being hot is I've gotten high on opiates probably.. 5 or 6 times since being on suboxone.( i was never an addict btw, i jsut got on it because i thought i was going to become one and its helped tremdously, the times i got high were at the end of summer and one or two other times, which in my mind is fine.. moderation is key and that is what it was) anyways when I was high i always was comfortable with the temperature, never getting hot/cold flashes. But with that being said, those times where I did take an opiate and I waited for withdrawal the hot flashes i experienced while waiting and going into withdrawal to take suboxone, as apposed to when i on suboxone normally, they are not nearly as bad but they are bothersome. So if there was a medication that really doesnt have that bad of side-effects, or none at all, and non-addictive and that i could take for them that would be great. But if there is only medications with a lot of side-effects and problems.. i think ill just deal with them. But i would like a medication if possible.
