I've seen a pretty decent increase in the release of articles about MDMA and PTSD.
Here is the latest one I found.

I wrote a letter to Obama a few months ago for one of my classes about considering the benefits MDMA could have for PTSD patients. I know my letter probably did nothing, but it's just funny how things are turning out now. Will there be even more hope for the future? It's especially cool for me because one of the potential things I want to do with my life is be a psychiatrist and assist in the types of therapy sessions mentioned in the article.

My main question for you guys, is do you think the media is helping make MDMA more acceptable?

(Also, if anyone is interested in reading my letter, let me know. I'd love to share it.)

its not necessarily the media imo, its the rave scene being more mainstream. i dont especially think e should necessarily be promoted by the media though, its a horrible drug if misused/used without care. i dont have a steady source for MDMA though, so i havent experienced or seen adverse effects from e myself though.

I don't like it on the news gives raves a bad name. Idk how thereputic MDMA could honestly be because personally I don't believe in any drug being administered daily, even at low dosages. That's when it throws off ur bodies equilibrium and causes withdrawal effect and long term effects

Not even just MDMA, I've been seeing a lot more shows coming on TV about drugs of all sorts, and they don't really seem to slanting negative, they are fairly factual, without much if any propaganda...It almost seems like the media is trying to make drugs seem more acceptable. Idk, maybe I'm just crazy.

MDMA doesn't throw off your equilibrium, it doesn't cause withdrawals, and there are really no negative long term effects if used properly. Why would you make assumptions about something you clearly know very little about and have done little or no research.

^agreed.

I saw a news post on BBC the other day, pretty much stating the same as that article. It got me kinda excited to see MDMA being looked in another light, rather than the 'dirty holes in brain' stereotype. No doctor with any idea of what MDMA is would administer it daily to a single patient, regardless of dosage..

I've been pointing this out to my dad for like the past 2 years and he just blew me off :(

thanks for posting, you're not crazy

I think it has to do with this slow acceptance of Marijuana into the culture. If you would have asked Sally Soccermom 5 years ago whether she thought Marijuana was bad she would have said yes. Today, more and more people are leaning on the side of, "Well, it's not for me, but I can see it's benefits and there are a lot worse things that people could be doing." More and more people are seeing that it wouldn't be so bad if it were illegal and are actually now listening to arguments for legalization. And a good pot head friend of mine mentioned that it's the first time in US history that we've had such a large, organized legalization group with NO large, funded opposition group.

And I think that alone is making people look at other drugs in the same way.
