Is the HT Cannabis Cup Judge's Pass worth the Money?

I just booked my flights to the last ever Cannabis Cup and was wondering if anyone knew whether the High Times judge's pass is worth the money? It works out at a little over half my weekly wage and as I am only there for the first 2 days of the event I was wondering whether I should bother?

If anyone else has any other tips for a first time traveler going to Amsterdam by themselves can they please post them here? I don't use drugs so won't be smoking or using over there.

If you've no intentions of smoking, I would think a day pass would be sufficient... My understanding is that a day pass gets you into all of the Cups events for whichever day you buy the pass on, whereas the Judge's Pass gets you admission and transportation to every event for the entirety of the cup. There's a few more Judge's Pass perks, but this is the biggest difference in my mind. 50 euros for a day pass per day, 250 euros for a Judge's Pass.

I know that doesn't definitively answer your question, but I felt like I should at least try before asking one that came to my mind when I saw your thread: In lieu of the Dutch ban on foreigners getting cannabis from coffee shops and cafes, does that effectively make this an event in which only the Dutch can participate and all non-Dutch are simply passive spectators if they choose to attend?

I'm no expert, but I've heard from fellow travelers that this is rarely enforced and easily skirted. Not sure if it would be any different for the Cup though.

Thanks for the advice mate. I didn't know that there were day passes available. I'll just get one of them as I can't judge anything fairly anyway.

As of Jan the 1st 2013 the new laws will be in effect in Amsterdam. They are already in effect in the regions around Amsterdam.

Back to the tips for a first time traveler.....
