Is seroquel an MAOI?

No Seroquel (Quetiapine Fumarate) is in a class of drugs called "atypical atypical antipsychotics and works in the complete opposites ways that MAO Inhibitors work. Antipsyspychotics (or Neuroleptics) work against Seroquel and Dopamine; whereas, MAOI's make Monoamines including Dopamine, Serotinin, norepenephrine, Epenephhrine, and many others, keep from breaking down in the synaps as well as being reuptaken, making them much more effective. Neuroleptics, including Seroquel, block Serotonin and Dopamine as well as other neurotransmitters from being attached to channels/the receptors of channels in order for them to function in the way they do "normally" and this illicits their effects.

While working at opposite ends of the spectrum, taking both of them together could result in negative health consequences, including seizures.
