Is reagent testing for 2c's possible?

<What the title says! :) (mods, feel free to move or shut down if I'm violating anything!)

I want to assure what I acquire labelled as "2c-i" is such- essentially, I am venturing into "untrusted" waters, and I do not thinks it's ever safe to trust what I put in my body (or my friends) is what it claims to be, regardless of it being RC's or otherwise.

Are there reagent tests that will specifically let you know what 2-c you have? I am very familiar with the Mecke/Marquis Reagent , but I'm wondering from people with experience with 2c's if there is a better reagent. I have never had to reagent my 2c's before, so I want to make sure I'm doing it right.

Yes it's here actually, my droog:

Even though it is not a PD thread, you can still find a link to it in our Psychedelic Index. Don't be ashamed to check the Beginner's FAQ as well, it's not scandalous because you are a mod with a postcount. ;) But the Index is always good to check first, even with it's length - snorkel through it next time if you will, who knows what threads and topics might seduce you.

You are asking about discerning between 2C-X, well I think if you have access to a spectrometer or something you could try and check the color more precisely but without reference samples or benchmarks it still wouldn't be conclusive. Some of them are more particular in color namely the halogenated 2C-Xes.

So I guess it's like this: you first test with Marquis, if you get a color reaction then you should be able to say at least that it's 2C-B, 2C-C, or 2C-I for example. If not then you also test with Mecke and see where you end up ranging from brown to orange or black etc, and try to distinguish at least if it's a 2C-T-X or an alkylated 2C-X which are: 2C-D, 2C-E and 2C-P (and yes also 2C-iP but that one is quite rare).

Well actually it was thread just about telling differance between 2c's
