Is propylene glycol harmful to the nasal cavities?

Wasn't sure whether to post this in OD or here but this seems more appropriate as it's a health related question. So the title says it all, I've procured an etizolam solution and sometimes I need to use it for acute panic attacks and sometimes these panic attacks occur when my stomach is full and if you don't already know etiz does very little and takes quite a bit to come-up on a full stomach so I choose to use the insufflation route. Before anyone tries to give me the whole "etizolam isn't water soluble therefor doesn't work nasally" bs I hate to break it to you but your WRONG, so don't bother making these types of comments. If you wanna argue it doesn't work then you obviously haven't tried it yet.

Anyways I noticed when I do these nasal drips with the PG solution it REALLY burns for about 45 seconds so that makes me wonder if this is doing any damage to my nasal cavities. When I insuflate etiz I only use 1/10th of a ml so it's not alot of material but even that small amount really burns my nose pretty bad. I always thought that nasal saline sprays contain PG but I've never noticed any burn with those, is this because the PG needs to be diluted? I can tolerate the burn but I just wanna know if long-term the nasal doses for acute anxiety will cause any lasting damage to my nasal cavities, responses will be appreciated :)

Ps: subligual also doesn't work for me so that's outta the option, within litterally 2 mins my cheeks are already blown up like a chipmunk from saliva buildup.

TL;DR- is propylene glycol damaging to nasal cavities in amounts as small as 1/10ml?

Ive injected hundreds upon hundreds of ampules of Valium that was in a propylene glycol/alcohol solution (2mL, 40% pg) and it was always recommended to inject it very slowly or else the burning in your veins would be intense. I'm still alive but are my veins still good? Yeah but definitely damaged, I definitely don't blame propylene glycol for that though.

Is it good to snort? Probably not. I've never snorted pg but I would assume it burns like a motherfucker just like if injected too quickly. Is it going to kill you? Probably not. Good to make a habit out of it? Probably not.

What exactly is in the solution?

It's an etizolam solution dissolved.in only PG. I also saw that it was used in nasal sprays but I found it weird that it doesn't burn in nasal sprays yet a tiny 1/10th of a ml of my etiz solution would. I've snorted etilaam pills and jt was as smooth as coke so I knew it wasn't the etiz causing the burn. This is my first time working with PG so when I found out that it had a warming sensation orally and a stinging sensation nasally I was a bit surprised. Thanks for the relplies guys/gals, like I said this is only for the odd occasion I have a panic attack with a full stomach.

Meh seems like a hassle, it's alot easier to carry my tiny 5ml bottle with dropper. I also don't own one of those and don't plan on buying one. I can handle the minor burn as long as no damage is being done.

If you're really concerned you should check if there's anything else besides etiz and pg in there, and also check etiz itself for irritant properties in the nasal cavity. But the PG itself is incredibly common delivery system for inhalers, nasal products, injectables etc and most find it incredibly inert in this respect.

What about vaping the stuff, e.g. e-digs?
My guess is it'd need to be tweaked to the appropriate concentration which, w/o extra etiz on-hand, it's unlikely his stuff is the proper % out-of-bottle for vaporizing (ie it's probably too strong or too weak a solution)

Interesting though, I mean *if* etiz would vape at similar temp as nicotine, it'd be simple enough to titrate the solution to something appropriate (because etiz is - iirc - dosed at very low, milligram levels like nicotine is)

I can assure you that there is nothing but etiz and PG in ths solution, etizolam isn't the irritant as I've insufflated etizolam pills with no burn. I'm assuming these nasal sprays are heavily diluted with saline or water whilst my solution is pure PG. Pure PG has this warming effect that nasal solutions don't which is why I suspect they dilute these nasal solutions. Since pure PG has the warming effect this may be what is causing the irritation, either way it doesn't bother me and have run into little problems besides the 30 seconds of burning.

k sounds like you're assuredly fine (on the PG) so long as you're keeping an eye on it. I'd google to find hba products that're totally PG (not water/pg based) but that's not really gonna help stop your burn lol ;p
/goes w/o saying I hope, but using a stronger/shorter-actor benzo like etiz in a nasal solution will make it hit harder, and bring w/ that more pull towards habitual usage than using it orally would have, so keep that in mind to be safe. Not just saying that because bl=harm reduction, but because benzo habits happen in surprisingly short time periods and are right there w/ opiods in terms of how uncomfortable they are to kick/heal from.

PG is used to suspend some IV medications that are used daily. Only a few substances are recognized as safe enough for use as a solvent in daily medical. PG has a bunch of acceptable uses, and most studies seem to find beneficial effects of at least low doses of PG.
