Is my gf taking too much?

Yup, way too much. Should be doing like 100mg-200mg every 3 months or so for her weight.

How did you get those dosages? I read that up to 2 mg/kg, with the average dose being 1.5 mg/kg, is the "safe" range.

3 month intervals agrees with the information at dancesafe.org, though I've seen 4 weeks in a few other places.

Dosage

* max 1.5mg/kg, max 0.5mg/kg redose after an hour and a half according to Dr. Alexander Shulgin in his book PiHKAL (Phenethylamines i Have Known And Loved)

* "1mg-2mg per kg weight." (http://www.bluelight.org/vb/threads/657228-Six-Simple-Rules-To-MDMA)

* "Guideline by body weight: 0.7mg/lb, or 1.54mg/kg. Optional Redose: 1/2 of the original dose, 2-3 hours in." (rollsafe.org)

* Dancesafe.org recommends against booster doses because they increase the risk of serotonin depletion.

* If you "have" to redose, don't take more than half the original dose, and never redose more than once.

* MDMA doses aren't linear. For example, 150mg is almost twice as strong as 120mg, measured by blood concentration levels in humans. Source: https://www.erowid.org/chemicals/mdma/mdma_neurotoxicity1.shtml

Frequency

Dancesafe.org, rollsafe.org, and the "godfather of ecstasy", Dr. Alexander Shulgin all agree on 90 days. Dr. Shulgin is famous for personally testing hundreds of psychoactive drugs (mostly ones he invented) and authoring PiHKAL and TiHKAL, books describing 234 drugs with "detailed synthesis instructions, bioassays, dosages, and other commentary". (Wikipedia) He's both a professional drug user and a professional drug researcher. In his own more poetic words, he said to reserve MDMA use to "once a season". Shulgin began the initial research on MDMA as a therapeutic and recreational drug in the 1960s. His work reflects decades of research on human subjects, himself included. I'd say he's one of the most qualified experts on MDMA.
