I was in my town's largest supplements aisle in one of the biggest pharmacies for chelated magnesium due to all the benefits I hear about it for the heart, muscle spasms and especially for add med users.

Well i looked at every brand of magnesium available, some were only magnesium citrate or magnesium oxide so I ignored them.

I found this brand : http://www.jamiesonvitamins.com/2707 but it didn't have anything like chelated magnesium in it, I was remembering that a kind of magnesium with high bioavailability which was or was just as good as chelated magnesium started with G.

So I bought this instead, a Life brand (canadians all know that brand I think, at least from Ontario to the east, Life is the house name for products of a big canadian pharmacy chain) magnesium supplement of 250mg pills with magnesium oxide, malate and glycerophosphate. I googled, ixquick'd etc. and couldn't be made sure it was the same thing as chelated, I can't seem to find anything that outright says chelated and I remember being told on bluelight by a pretty knowledgeable person that one of them forms of magnesium starting with a G is another name for chelated.

Thanks, I hope it has a great bioavailability. Btw I was seeing the magnesium citrate only bottles claiming to have high bioavailability...what the hell ? I almost went and told a pharmacy tech or one of the pharmacists but I bet it wouldn't have changed anything. Thanks if you have any idea.

Magnesium seems to be quite remarkably useful - i believe that the cheapest possible source is magnesium chloride which also has a high bioavailability i think.
It is a LOT cheaper, but tastes disgusting, so you may need to dilute heavily.

I am not too sure if Magnesium Glycerophosphate is Chelated magnesium. The types of Chelated Magnesium that I am aware of are Lactate, Glycinate, Aspartate or Arginate. It is known that Magnesium Glycinate tends to provide the highest levels of absorption and bioavailability and is typically considered ideal for those who are trying to correct a deficiency.

Glycinate eh ? I saw another brand which had oxide, fumarate and glycinate.

This one with oxide, malate and glycerophosphate works great, no tightening of muscles when I take my Dexies, my heart goes a lot less faster (might be because I also use L-Arginine, that supplement makes me feel alive while on methadone (which I am quitting for subs as soon as my dosage allows it). But yeah, it does seem to be very bioavailable, i didn't know chelated magnesium could have one of these other names, i was looking for bottles that said straight up chelated magnesium and I went to 2 other health food stores and none had anything saying chelated, I was confused.

Glycerophosphate seems to be good anyways, same for malate, while i know Oxide has very low B/A but it is almost in all magnesium supplements (they all seem to be mixes of different kinds of Mg) except those Mg Citrate bottle I saw, but I know I have to completely ignore that one.

After taking it since a week at 500mg doses and L-Arginine 2g a day it's like I've obtained a big natural boost in energy and endurance to exercise...which methadone had killed, even if i took Dexedrine, and if I would take very large doses of Dexedrine (over 60mg a day, lets say) I would feel terrible, it seems like the done and dex in large doses just doesn't go together.

My Magnesium brand is called Alive vitamins and per capsule has magnesium elemental 250 mg, magnesium malate 400 mg, magnesium oxide 350 mg. When I started taking magnesium it helped with decreasing my brain zaps and made me feel more calm and relaxed. Sometimes I take it before I go to sleep or during the day

I've been using transdermal magnesium for a few weeks now with great success.

It's simply magnesium chloride dissolved in water and sprayed on the body. It takes about 15-20 mins to absorb, then you can wash it off. I spray it on myself in the morning before I get a shower.
