Is LSD+cannabis making me seizure?

Hello,

I usually like to smoke a rather large quantity of weed about 4-5 hours after dropping acid since its a sure way to trigger euphoria for me which sometimes does not happend without it. However recently I have worried that this might cause some negative effects and maybe I should stop. I've never had these effects described below with LSD or cannabis alone, only from the combination. I'm not a regular smoker and smoke only 3-4 times a month.

So during the first hour or so that the cannabis affects me, I sometimes suddenly get the feeling of "waking up" with my limbs completely frozen and kind of wondering whats going on and the feeling that I've just been in a dream. This is usually very pleasurable I should add. Last time I did it I "woke up" and my entire body was very very tense with clenched fists close to my body, I think i was drooling as well and I thought to my self "holy shit, did I just have a seizure?!" which got me pretty concerned and almost spun me into a panic attack.

I always trip alone which complicates the situation because I cannot know from someone else if what I'm experiencing is infact a seizure or not. I also spend most of my time laying down or sitting in my chair, and this has therefore never caused me to fall down and waking up on the ground which would have me much more worried.

I'm aware that cannabis is supposed to increase the seizure threshold and actually prevent them. I'm also aware that LSD lowers seizure threshold slightly. My thought is that maybe the lowered treshold together with the amplification of psychedelic effect produced by the weed makes me get a seizure?

So I'd like some input from you guys, especially if you have experience with seizures or if you can relate to what im describing above. Does REAL seizures always leave you feeling like shit after they happend or can they be pleasurable? How does it feel like after you have a real seizure? Is a seizure something you definitly know that you have had after you have it? Do you think I should lay off the combination because of these effects?

Am I just tripping out over nothing and all of this is just a state of trance or something, or could I be at real risk here?

Thanks guys, hoping to get some answers here because I really love the combination and it would be tough to give it up.

Honestly from your description I think it is impossible to really tell... My own perception, going from what you've said though, is that you probably did not have a seizure, you were probably just tripping and high and spaced out for a while, then had a WTF moment coming back to reality.

You could go see a neurologist if you are concerned, but I think that drug-induced seizures, especially psychedelic-induced seizures, are not necessarily going to leave behind anything detectable or measurable in your brain's electrical activity... so if you have never had a seizure sober it's unlikely they're going to be able to tell you anything useful.

Perhaps if you generally stay sitting in the same place while tripping, then set up a webcam and record yourself? You should then be able to confirm if you really had a seizure or not. Better yet, get someone you trust to trip-sit.

On the other hand I've never had a seizure so maybe someone who has had one will be able to identify with something you describe.

This is definitely NOT a seizure of any ordinary kind. First of all, most kinds of seizures should leave you completely unconscious. When you wake up, you won't know where you are, how you got their, or why you fished out. Secondly, seizures are not pleasurable after the fact, actually they can leave you with brain damage so you should be feeling pretty terrible after. Normally seizures cause intense anxiety/fear and sometimes headaches and dejavu.

That all said, I'm not a doctor, and if you're really concerned you should seek a medical professional because I am not a completely reliable source of health info, just someone who has a passion for both the brain and scouring the internet.

Edit: forgot to mention that weed normally prevents seizures and LSD is not well-known for lowering seizure threshold. Probably just some type of weird hypnogogic serotonin reaction.
