Heroin Is it worth it?

I have been clean from heroin for about a year now. I've most recently become a raging alcoholic since quitting the H. Well I finally found a way to get dope where I live. I'm getting it delivered tomorrow. I have been IV only for about 4 years. I smoked it for a couple of years before I started shooting it. Once I started shooting dope I would have never have thought about going back to smoking it. Here's my problem:

I wrecked my car drunk as shit the other night. Hence the reason I dont want to have anything to do with alcohol. I walked to two close by pharmacies to try to buy rigs today and both denied selling to me. The next closest group of pharmacies is like 3-5 miles away. Is it worth the walk?

Is it possible to get that IV like rush from smoking it in large quantities? I do know I can get my nod on from smoking it but I really miss that initial rush.

BTW I live on the east coast but I'm getting some southwest tar. Easily smokable. Hurts to snort and you have to dilute it with water just like shooting it.

I do know this. I have spent far too much time in jail, institutions and hospitals. The last time I got high it was just maintenance regardless of the dosage. My run was cut short with a jail sentence.

You know the answer already. Once in your chained to shit gain.. My friend is getting ready to quit in 2 days (again) but he's been getting ready to quit in two days for about 2 months now... Smoking is no better than the alternative, your body becomes equally dependant and it's even more of an inconvenience, having to puff at least every few hours to maintain.

You can try plugging it with an oral syringe. Some say that you get a little rush from doing it that way, and it has a decent bioavailability as well.

A lot of people turn to alcohol when they stop using opiates and in a lot of cases it's safer to go back to heroin (considering you practice HR) but once you become dependent it's not a fun life.

I found that using heroin as little as 1x a week would allow me to drastically cut back on my alcohol intake, but it's extremely difficult to limit heroin use like that, and most people end up getting dependent on it again.

Like others have said the answer is simple and it seems you know that already! From an IV addict. No it's really not worth it.

No

NO. Unless you can get a lifetime supply. Opioids are not bad on the body. They just turn addicts into POS. I've been there.
I WOULD KILL TO HAVE NEVER DONE any of the "Codone"s.

Since your questionseems to be 'is it worth it' to walk to theother pharmacies, you should go online and do a search if syringes/needles are sold otc in your state. They are in many eastern statez suxh as new york and pennsylvania. But they aren't insome, like new jersey, which requires you to have a prescription.

A lot of people seem to be assuming the question is "is doing heroin worth it?", when to me it seems like your actual question is is smoking heroin worth it or should you continue searching for syringes.

No, it doesn't feel the same as injecting. And "large quantities" is not a good idea. But maybe it's wisest for you to not go back to injecting, for numerous reasons.

And maybe you could try to get help with your drug/alcohol use as opposed to just switching back to heroin? If you don't deal with the reasons behind your addiction, it's not going to solve itself. Although if you're not ready/willing to quit drugs/alcohol completely, I have to agree with Tommyboy that switching from severe alcoholism to using heroin might actually sometimes be a form of harm reduction in some contexts.

Definitely don't drink and use heroin at the same time though please <3

Yes I am asking if it is worth smoking the tar or continue searching for syringes. I can order them online but my dope will be gone by the time they get here.

I've lived the junkie lifestyle and it SUCKS. This is a one time thing, meaning I only have access to the dope today.

It's easier to function with a severe alcohol problem in the eyes of society. I can look like shit the next day and people will just ask, "long night huh?" But I do asshole things like start fights, wreck cars and whatnot. I never did that stuff while I was high.

It is definitely worth smoking tar over injecting it, if you are searching for the quick onset over insufflation. By "worth it" I mean you will still get very high due to your lowered tolerance, so be careful and start at a much lower dose then usual. It's not worth it to relapse if you haven't already, so try "give" that dope to somebody and just use plain leaf Kratom for opioid cravings and Kava-Kava for alcohol cravings once you've tapered off.

Librium/Serax or other less-addictive GABAergics might be used to slowly wean you off GABAergics as heavy as alcohol, since c/t alcohol w/d can be neurotoxic and damaging to the psyche as a whole, so just don't cut it out completely if you are an alcoholic.

Having said that, if you DO go ahead with reigniting your heroin addiction, know that since you have tar, you should consider yourself lucky if you're in to smoking heroin, since most east coasters (especially Northeast BL'ers) only get heroin #4 white/tan powder, which is not smokeable like tar and heroin #3 are (found in Europe and Asia).

So, you basically have the only smokeable heroin (tar) that you can find regularly in the US. Take advantage of that and enjoy a relatively lower addiction potential than injecting it. Some can chip with insufflation/smoking (for a few months, that is, before getting withdrawals and doing more and more just to feel "normal"), but shooting up dope sends any BL'er I've heard about in to a downward spiral in to extreme addiction, resorting to crime or pawning off their stuff for another bag.

Have you considered getting on to a low-dose (1-2 mg/day) Suboxone maintenance program? It will be dangerous to drink heavily on it, just like with opioids, but it might even satisfy what your brain wants: stimulating dopamine release through alcohol or heroin. Even better and less addictive, but not as useful for those that do more than a gram of heroin/day, is Kratom, a non-addictive (relative to opium poppy-based opioids, like heroin or hydrocodone), plant that you can make a tea with, which contains 2 alkaloids that are indole-opioids, which are quite unique compared to the poppy-based alkaloids' structures, which have Phenanthrene structures.

Best of luck, man, I hope you find your way :)

Yeah, iwasn't advocating you buy them online, all i meant was do a search to see if your state sells syringes over the counter in pharmacies. If it does, you can walk to one and buy a package of ten for a few dollars (not trying to "price" so i won't get more specific). If your state requires a prescription to buy them, then it's not worth continuing to ask for them at pharmacies.
