Is it worth growing flowers?

Flat-out, I love opiates. I have read through the various pages and sites for poppies and I am interested in perhaps cultivating some. Can anybody tell me from their first-hand experience (not just their opinion) if it is even worth growing and nourishing those babies for the opium value and the time involved? Should I just keep chasing the pharm. form (ie Oxy)? Any eductated answers appreciated...

You took the question right out of my mouth. Opiates are the best thing I can think of and I wish I just had a nice, constant supply to keep me happy. I was at those websites, too. Oh well. I guess I'll continue my quest for Vicodin.
 
Yeah if you are looking for a steady supply, growing opium poppies will have to be a serious labor of love. you will need a lot of them.

Is it worth it? Well, certinly not if thats going to be your primary source of narcotics... but it's a great way to pass time when you're high on pain killers... they take a fair amount of time to actually grow to the point you can milk them... the only payoff - making a nice, big jug of tea!

Actually, they are a very hardy plant and they will grow just about anywhere. I think the best idea is to buy a bunch of seeds (there really cheap) and just sprinkle the seeds in other people's gardens or government park land in the spring and let them take car of them. Then once the flowers fall off start collecting. The fresh ones go great with orange juice.
I've done a lot of Strong (IV) opiates and when my friend offered me some poppy juice I really didn't think it would do much. I was wrong. It put me on my ass for twelve hours. Oral opium is, IMHO, the longest lasting opiate. Of course IV'ing every five hours last quite long too
