Is it safe for me to take diazepam with low dose oxycodone (pain management)?

I've been prescribed diazepam for muscle spasms (up to 20mg a day) for the last few weeks but it can only be used short term so my Dr won't prescribe anymore. I haven't had any diazepam for about 7-8 days and I haven't had any withdrawals, but I might still have a bit of tolerance?

While we're considering other options he prescribed me some oxycodone (IR 5mg) for PM use max 2 a day. I've taken 8 in the last 6 days so I probably have a slight tolerance (I've used oxy in the past).

I'm finding that the oxy isn't nearly as effective as the diazepam as it only takes the edge off the pain and doesn't stop the muscle spasms/stiffness/tremors, and it only provides relief for a few hours. I don't want to increase my dose of oxy and I still have a few diazepam left. Would it be safe to take 5-10mg of diazepam (I took 5mg of oxy about an hr ago)? Would it work or would it just potentate the oxy too much and make me nod?

I hate it when doctors say medicine that helps you can only be used short term really makes my blood boil I'm prescribed diazepam for anxiety but my doctor says I can only have 60 every 3 month so I have to use them wisely and not multiple tablets daily

ok to answer your question I don't see anything wrong with 10mg of diazepam and 5mg oxy , 5mg of oxycodone is equivalent to 60mg codeine so your in the safe zone and just tell your doctor you don't wanna take it daily and you feel comfortable knowing you have them that way he won't worry about you getting addicted to them that's the main reason they do drugs like those short term
