The reason most addict users inject is that it's the most direct and efficient route. Once your tolerance is high enough this method of consumption gives you the biggest bang for your buck, as well as being very intense. Therefore once you go the iv route you'll generally not go back to smoking or snorting (unless you've fucked every useable vein that is). But that doesn't mean injector = addict.

I personally know a couple proper junkies that are needle-shy and exclusively chase ; I also know a handful of long-time occasional users ( 2 - 3 times monthly on average) who only inject.

I think that it depends on your brain chemistry (addiction potential), and the reasons that you're taking it.

I had my first 5mg Vicodin for "fun" almost 20 years ago, and within a matter of months I was snorting 300mg of Oxy a day!

My mom, on the other hand, took one Tylenol w/Codeine after major surgery and never had another one.

The relationship one has with the effects can make a whole world of difference, too.

Almost each day when I finish my Kriya practice I produce tenfold oxycodone on my own. I wouldn't change that for anything. But when I was an anxious wreck with shitty habits and energy system totally fucked, a Kratom high was the best thing ever.

Nowadays even though I might use them from once in a while, I have discovered there are certain states of consciousness much more pleasurable and intense than those of opiates. (I must say, never have tried heroin, but I doubt it's better than what im talking about).

So when taking opiates means 'putting you down', instead of getting 'high', you start to stop idealising them and seeing that their effects are not so 'amazing'. When you feel spectacular and blissful within yourself you don't want to take a drug to kill the perception state you are.

As a side note, some people might have different anxiety or fear levels as a baseline, people with higher levels of fear/anxiety will be way more attracted to opiates because they ease these uncomfortable nervous states very effectively. I am quite skeptic of the whole thing of 'some people have different neurochemistry', although I guess there can be exceptions.

This sounds amazing. Who is your teacher or what branch of kriya? How long before you saw results? How much time a day?
What does it feel like? I do experience anxiety and idealize the feeling of love and peace of mdma more than that of opiates which can be more checked out though neither is
sustainable long term

I’ve been using opiates since I was 16 - therapeutically for pain. So for almost 28 years now. I have IVed heroin on occasion (under 5 times, I’ve also IMed micron filtered solution a handful of times). The first time was out of curiosity, but all the other times were for pain. It’s just not a drug I find recreational so it’s not something I would ever be able to abuse. Of course, frequent enough use does eventually lead to physical dependence.

The closest I’ve ever been to addiction was with crack, and I’ve tried almost all the most addictive drugs. I can have cocaine on hand and not touch it for years, but as soon as I make it up into crack, I will smoke it until it’s gone. I can limit myself to 1-3 hits a day, but I will use it up. Fortunately, I don’t feel compelled to re-buy. It’s an interesting mindset to be in because I am very aware of how long it’s been since my last hit and constantly thinking of when can I do the next one. It’s given me insight into how it must feel to be a full-blown addict. Cocaine is not physically addictive, either, but highly psychologically addictive.

Strangely, I don’t even like crack much except for the 5 to 30 second rush right at the beginning. I don’t get rushes from any other drug (at least not more than once, i.e. the first time). I can’t even consistently get a rush with crack. I think most of that is bad smoking technique but I do think there’s something different about my neurochemistry that makes me less prone to intense dopamine surges. I don’t get them from social media either.
