Like title says, is it possible to create a benzodiazepine by chemistry, but has no/neglible affinity for gabaa andIs selective for ANY other mechanism? (Nmda antagonist, 5ht2a agonist, sndri etc dont care).

Does such a thing already exist?

Also to be clear, im NOT looking for flumazenil etc

Thx

Sure. Take for example the antipsychotic drug olanzapine, which features a benzene+diazepine ring fusion, thus could be described as a substituted benzodiazepine (if one is so inclined to call it that), or more specifically a thienobenzodiazapine.

So when olanzapine was made was it automatically a controlled substance? Did it have to be specially excempt?

Thanks
