Is it possible to become allergic to a drug after using it for a year?

For example, Soma. I have been taking it for a year now and the last couple times I took 1050mg (and right now) I feel my throat closing and a dirtier high than normal. Is there a possible explanation for this?

I know that soma in high doses can cause seizures. I've had one from soma.

I believe this is a very real possibility for some people.

Allergy has become a vague and misrepresented condition, I'll leave a medical expert to worry about the definition, but as fare as starting to have an adverse reaction to something exposure trigger this is some people. I have been told that I display atopic symptoms and have experienced adverse reactions to medications I have used for months or even years with out a problem.

A glimmer of hope though, the problems don't last and after a period of avoidance it seems the system is reset, not sure this is the same for all.

I'm allergic to penicillin and the doctors think its because i was on it non stop for a good 5-6 months when i was really really little with a series of apparently incredibly bad chest infections

I='m actually considering trying some penicillin in a safe environment to see if i am still allergic or it was a bad reaction back then
