(answered) Is it just me or is it hard to get replies on forums?

So I'm recently new and I have made threads, waiting for answers to some of the questions. I don't know if it's just me, but why is it hard to get replies?
Does my thread have to be searched in order to do it, or what? I see threads on here with a lot of replies to their questions and I'm just curious as to if I'm doing these threads right or not.
I definitely need help if I'm doing it wrong, because I'd like opinions.
 
It just depends on the thread and how many people take interest in it. If it's something that has already been discussed a lot then some people won't want to be bothered with getting involved in the same discussion again. And no, you don't have to search to see your threads as long as they are in the first couple of pages which they will be for at least a week after the last reply there. It's best to search for existing threads on a topic though and see if you can find your answer there, or just post your question in that thread if it's similar to what is already being discussed.
 
I looked back at your other posts to see if there might be a problem.

In one post (about being new and researching) you really didn't have a question so you are not likely to get any answers.

On the other ones you are basically asking what drugs you should use. BL is a harm reduction site and as the moderator mentioned in one of those threads we can't really tell you what drugs you should use.

Other than that, it is best to do a search on the info before you post a question. When there is a lot of already existing info about it sometimes people will not answer.
 
Yeah, I know about that thread. I didn't really know about that because I'm a kind of learn from your mistakes person, but after that I actually read the guidelines and now I know what to do and not do.

Also, I figured I'd introduce myself to the users here. So that's a thread I really didn't care on for replies.

It's just, I go to other original threads when researching, but the threads that I go to, the last known reply is like, a year old sometimes, so I have no idea if anyone will even see my question on it, you know?
 
If you post in those threads they will then be recirculated back to the top of the list of threads. It goes by when the last reply in a thread was, so if you post now it would appear in the same place as a new thread you started at the same time.
 
Oh so say (using as examples, no criticism please) if I had a question about cats so I looked it up but the thread was old so I typed in a question and then made my own thread on that question, too. So the old thread would pop up along with my thread for people to see? If that is confusing, then I mean it like;

If people are on the forum, they'll see my new thread and that old thread? I'm trying not to sound confusing, sorry.
 
No, just one thread would pop up.

Like say a year from now someone wants to find out why their thread is getting no replies. If they search the question and see your thread and decide to post in it then it will bump this thread back to the top of the first page in this section. If they choose to start their own thread then the new thread would be the first in this section.
 
Hello Tori! I posted my question on the Homeless thread forum, and it was kindly moved by a MOD, and I then got several replies. No sure if that was the right thing to do. But you may want to try that. :)
