can you please help me solve this riddle.

here introduction to enzyme CYP1A2 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/CYP1A2 and get to know it better here; https://www.pharmacy...11/2007-11-8279

anyway, none of those really explain this important thing that I WANT TO KNOW. WHY IS THAT BOTH CIG SMOKE, VARIOUS CARCINOGENS AND CRUCIFERIOUS VEGS LIKE BROCCOLI INDUCE IT? SO, DOES IT MEAN BROCCOLI IS JUST AS BAD AS CARCINOGENS OR BOTH HELP CLEAN YOUR BODY?? IM VERY CONFUSED HERE

Cytochrome P450 enzymes are the workhorses of human metabolism and they work on a tremendously broad array of substances. The fact that something is metabolized by a particular CYP450 enzyme does not give any indication as to whether the molecule being metabolized is toxic or not, or whether the metabolite will be toxic. Particular CYP450s are often upregulated by the presence of molecules that are substrates for it, but this doesn't mean these substrates are toxicologically similar. So, in brief, the fact that both cigarette smoke and broccoli increase the expression of CYP1A2 is not evidence that either of these things is harmful or helpful.
