Is how fast you feel the pill related to your tolerance level?

When I first starting taking ecstasy, I remember I use to start to "feel" it around 30 minutes in. Now when I take either ecstasy pills or even 150mg mollies it takes about 60-70 minutes for me to start feeling it. All pills i've taken were tested and I believe were good quality. So, just for argument's sake, say they were all mdma pills with no meth, amp, pipes, etc... Is this that same as other people experience? the more you take the longer it takes to feel the high? Or could it just be different pills so maybe the just reacted differently due to binders and etc...

I'd say it just depends on how fast your metabolism is working at that point in time. I've taken an hour and a half to come up(highly unusual), or as little as about 30 minutes.

Aye, it's entirely related. The more often you take MDMA the slower the comeup and smaller in duration the roll will be.

I disagree...the roll will definitely be shorter and less intense, and the come up will be less intense, but as far as the time it takes to come up I don't see how tolerance would have any impact. It just depends on how fast you're body breaks it down.

EDIT: For example, my first time ever rolling (on some very good molly), my come up took around an hour. Last time I rolled I came up in about 45 minutes.

If you have a high tolerance you may not notice the come up making you think its taking longer to 'hit' you.

This is a good point, I wasn't really thinking about it in regards to the perception of it, more when it actually starts becoming active in your bloodstream.

Just another thought, I believe it's possible that, when new to MDMA, the anxiety waiting to come up can sometimes be mistaken as coming up, anyone else?

^ Gel caps are designed to dissolve in the stomach rather quickly.

I would say most are, but I put part of a pill in an Addy XR cap once and I swear it took an hour and a half + to hit, and that was a speed pill. Could have been for other reasons though, as addys usually dont take TOO long to kick in

I do agree with you, but you see what I mean, the way your MDMA is packaged can effect the rate at which it get absorbed

I couldn't agree with you more - I know (and I've read dozens of reports on this) where people start to 'come up' after five minutes of dropping - increased heart rate, butterflies, anxiety, not being to sit still etc are all often mistaken as signs of 'coming up'.

I definitely get that with mushies/acid, MDMA was always too laid back and happy for me to ever be anxious while Im coming up, but if you dont know what to expect, youll start looking for the symptoms of being high, when really yous should just lay back and let the pills do the work

My opinion is that
1. What type of substance it is, MDMA kicks in sooner then MDA etc.
2. What you've eaten before you take it, if you're on an empty stomach, it'll kick in quicker.
3. Your tolerance.
4. The way you've taken it.
5. Your bodyweight.

What about setting? If I pop at home I feel that I'm waiting for ages for it to actually kick in - if I'm out with friends, even though the drug isn't in our bloodstreams we all get 'the grin' and everyone is different. Were not high / were the same 'physically' that we were 5 seconds prior to dropping but everything changes?

I wouldn't have really thought about that as coming up but I don't disagree. It's certainly part of the overall experience IMO. The anticipation and build-up through out the day, and then it just doubles up once you drop. That's how it is for me at least.

Sometimes I'll be right on the edge of coming up, and all it takes is a lightshow and I feel fan-fucking-tastic. So same idea I suppose, even though there likely wasn't much physiological change in a 1-3 minute span, something definitely happens.

takes me at least an hour to feel anything,
But sometimes slightly longer.

Depends what ive ate, when ive last ate.

Regardless i have a really amazing time on mdma

I speculate you feel the effects around the same time. However with tolerance these effects may be unnoticeable.

From my experience, the first noteable effect is the increase in heart rate. Followed by slight nausea. As my tolerance increases, I may not even feel my heart begin to speed up; though, if I count my heart beats after 30 minutes, it will usually be around an unnatural 120 bpm.

Edit: The euphoria is typically the last feeling to set in. As I have said previously your tolerance may be so high that the euphoria and dizziness are unnoticeable until it's reached its peak. WHICH in my opinion is sad news. Nothing is sadder than having a bum roll and realizing you need a break.

I wonder if going for a 15 minute jog right after eating the pill would make it kick in? Hmmm... I know jogging speeds up metabolism :D

I think so. I feel like MDMA after a gym session, or some form of exercise, would be pretty intense. Faster metabolism and already got the endorphins going.
