is heroin really THAT good?

i was just wondering if heroin really gives you such a mind blowing experience of pleasure that it makes everything else look pale in comparison;

or is it just the odd, dull high you develop a physical addiction to if you do it too often?

have done opium but wasnt too impressed;

i know it probably varies from user to user, but some opinions would be appreciated;

upto you man i tinhk heroin sucks weed is the best drug ever, i would take weed over heroin anyday it dpends on the person i am pretty highstring and cokes makes me calm as shit

And yes, Heroin is one of the best high's you could ever feel. I would pick a good nod over sex any day.
 
It's not so great. I don't think you are going to be impressed. It is a very relaxing feeling. I've been doing heroin on and off for 7 months, because I was going through a hard time in my time. Heroin made everything better by taking the depression away. I was never physically addicted to it. When I didn't have any during depression I would get cravings. This was up in college, in a hick town in the middle of no where. Now I'm back at home, graduated from college, and have a nice job, I don't need heroin.

What I'm trying to say is that heroin was amazing when I had problems and needed things to be dulled away. I've done heroin when I was happy and it wasn't great. Also, when I finally got high from it after being sick so many times, I was VERY disappointed. It wasn't anything I expected it to be. I would use heroin again to relax during some weekends, but I'm not going to use it like I used to.

I only snorted it, so I will never know the rush of injecting.

You should try some though, you will see it's nothing like it's hyped up to be. None of that 1000 fuzzy orgasm bullshit.
 
No, it's not that good.

MDMA and methamphetamine, IME, provide far greater euphoria.

Heroin is a great drug and my favorite opiate, but it's not mind-blowing the way that MDMA is. Like coke, heroin is somewhat overrated (funny how the drugs with the worst reputation are overrated). As PhreeX would say, if you are expecting the pleasure of 10,000 orgasms heroin ain't gonna provide that. It's warm, soothing high and IV provides a very pleasant rush, but it's not the most pleasure you will ever feel, by any means.

IMO, MDMA is by far and away the most euphoric drug.
 
heroine is like that girl who isnt quite supermodel hot, but once you get her in the sack you would take her over carmen elektra any day. I didnt think it was so great at first but after you take in the whole experience you get to love it. i would say do not try unless you are one who enjoys playing with fire

Lots of really good input here so far. From my experience, when you get down on some good H there's nothing like it. First it's a warm rush, then a euphoria like none other... all of life's everyday problems dissappear. Next, if you're lucky, is a nice loooong nod.

But remember, you ARE playing with fire when you do dope. From my personal experince it's the only drug that removes me from everyday stresses... I haven't done street dope in years but prescription PK's tops my list of favorite recreational drugs.. Vicodin, Percocet, and once in a while some yummy OxyContin 40mg! I won't even start on Methadone... ;)

Thanks. It's amazing how some people here can judge the quality of your heroin just by your preference. Some people just love putting other people down. I'm not the only one who thinks the high is not so great. I've nodded off before, and to be honest I don't think it's mindblowing. Why don't you send me a note if you know where I can get some good dope, so maybe I can judge again? I'm not saying the high is shitty, I loved heroin when I was depressed, it was good for dulling shit away.

Like NK, I think there are other drugs that are far more euphoric.
 
Heroin is an amazing high. IMO it is far better than rolling, mainly because the comedown, and because I prefer not doing uppers any more.

But I enjoy Pharmacutical opiates better because they are alot safer than dirt that you could buy on the street. If you want a good high get a hold of diluadid, liquid demerol, or some fentanyl patches.
 
Even though mdma might be more euphoric, the side-effects and toxicity make it far less practical and well-rounded as a recreational drug. Intravenous heroin is definately one of the best all around drugs, it is very enjoyable and there is a relatively low incidence of side-effects and toxicity. Biggest flaws are its addiction potential and risk of overdose. I have never snorted heroin, but im guessing its not the same.
 
I found it to be way over-rated, mind you I only smoked it, altough it was good gear, made me spew just from smoking. But then again I'm yet to enjoy an opiate so I guess it just comes down to personal preference.
 
No one is discussing toxicity here...clearly MDMA would lose. But then, if you want to bring in other factors, you could say that heroin is a shitty drug becuase of its great physical addictiveness.

Also, I strongly disagree with you about side effects...I have *no* unpleasant side effects with MDMA, other than mild dry mouth and jaw clenching. I also never got comedowns or e-depression. With heroin, on the other hand, I get some nausea, extreme sedation (which I find annoying), and some itching...and occasionally I feel depressed. Basically, everyone experiences different side effects with different drugs, but to say that heroin has fewer side effects than MDMA as a flat-out statement is just wrong.

I'm not trying to say MDMA is a better drug -- but it *IS* more euphoric, in my opinion. Heroin is overall a more useful drug for me, I tend to use it more frequently, and I've been using it over a longer period than I used MDMA, so clearly euphoria isn't the only factor in drug preference.
 
Most likely, the drug you will find to be most euphoric, is the one that temporarily fixes the problems in your life.

First analyze why you enjoy the effects of a drug... Heroin makes your problems and hangups dissapear and a feeling of uncertainty turn reassurance...
Ive found that those people who dont feel overwhelmed by life, are not stressed, or not in pain physically or emotionally tend to not see "the big deal" about heroin.. After all it is a painkiller, and if you have no pain to kill, then your not gonna get much out of it.. However, for those who deal feel the need to escape from a certain aspect of life will find heroin to be very euphoric.. It all depends on who you are sober..

Those who find amphetamines or alcohol to be the most euphoric usually have social hangups, feel that they cannot let go and have fun, or feel inferior to some aspect of there life.. Those who dont express these traits dont find amphetamines all that euphoric as the state amphetamines put them in, is not one that they feel the need to take a drug to achieve...

This can go for all drugs,

those who feel difficulty opening up or being emotional could easily see E as the most euphoric, while those who are already open tend to see E as a waste of time.

Benzos for those who feel they dont have enough time to relax..

Hallucinogens for those who arent satisfied with the shallowness in which they percieve things sober..

Euphoria is relative.. A drug will be euphoric if it produces a reult that is pleasing to you.. Therefore if one does not have a preexisting problem that a drug remedies, then obviously the drug will not bring a sense of relief or satisfation if taken for symptoms that do not exist.. Make sense?

So what Im trying to say is heroin euphoria varies directly with the personality of the person who takes it.
