Greetings, all. I'm an attorney in New Jersey. I was asking around about an opiate issue and was told this is where the true experts are.

I need a quick answer regarding the implications of a drug test that was positive for opiates. Client indicates he took legitimately prescribed narcotics post-hip surgery and most recent ingestion was ~5 months ago. Drug test shows: Oxymorphone LCM SMS POSITIVE 173 pg/mg and Oxycodone LCM SMS >2000 pg/mg. Sample comments says "ACTUAL VALUE: Oxycodone2 = 16631."

The court / judge needs to know whether these results are consistent with parent's claim as to usage being ~5 months ago in reasonably prescribed dose. His ex-wife's attorney says "no way - that's far too high a value for months-old usage. He was probably high in court last week when he gave the hair sample." Ex-wife's attorney is something of a bitch. But is she correct on this?

If anyone knows AND CAN POINT ME TOWARD A SOURCE I CAN QUOTE TO THE JUDGE / COURT, it'd be appreciated. We're just looking for something preliminary.

I'd be happy to answer your question and point you in the direction of the information you require, Lawyer Dave... at my standard hourly rate of course.

Kaden -- tell you what, I'll give you 200% of what this pro bono client is paying. It's a dad trying to see his kids, says he's clean / sober. I'm working with him as part of project to get child support debtors back in touch with their kids and in their lives (cause, ya know, a lightbulb finally went on somewhere that parents who actually see their kids tend to make paying support a higher priority... surprise!). Or I could share my hourly rate on the fourth civil rights case I've taken pro bono - I'm just over 975 hours over the past 14 months on it, and could use help prepping for oral argument in three weeks: http://www.dpdlaw.com/kavadas.htm

So, you happy enough now to help out -- or point me in the right direction? :-)

We dont really allow posts pertaining to drug testing here. But it took about 6 seconds of googling to find a major labs cutoff levels. Or you are a lawyer, you must have contact with experts or can use your powers to get one.

Yes, Thank you Kttycat5... we don't allow it. Please read the rules below to the right Lawyer Dave. Much appreciated. :)
