Is Diphenhydramine effects similar to Scopolamine in higher doses?

Just wondering if DPH has similar effects in higher dosages the same way as Scopolamine is like the real-looking type hallucinations and delirium along with it?
I am NOT planning to take any of these two drugs. Just as an educational question here, these two substances are very potent anticholinergics and therefore does the two have similar hallucinogenic effects than the other?

Chemically however, there are not same, but I am wondering about the effects.

For example, is Scopolamine LESS sedating and cause LESS drowsiness than DPH does at recommended dosages?

Thx.

I have not actually tried high doses of diphenhydramine myself, so I am just going by literature on it, but the effects do sound very similar. Diphenhydramine in high doses does cause strong hallucinations that can be difficult to tell from reality, delirium, pretty much all the same effects as scopolamine and scopolamine-containing plants. Like many drugs, the effects do vary dramatically from person to person though. By "recommended doses" do you mean recreational doses or therapeutic doses? Scopolamine is sedating but I'm not sure whether it's less sedating than diphenhydramine, my guess would be that diphenhydramine might be more sedating.

I'm thinking there might be more people with experience with these 2 drugs in Psychedelic Drugs. I'm going to move it there - hopefully that's the right place for it? (PDD mods feel free to move it if you feel it's better here in BDD or somewhere else)

Is scopolamine more sedating than lets say even xanax at normal doses such as 0.4 Mg?
Or is it much more like diphenhydramine?

^I wouldn't compare ACh antagonist sedation with that of GABAergics, they're different. Furthermore, if we're dealing with delirium level dosages, anticholinergics are going to likely cause excitement and agitation.

Scopolamine is more sedating and amnesiac than atropine, I don't know about diphenydramine by way of comparison. However, dph is clinically indicated, and available OTC as sedative-hypnotic, so it might be more efficacious. And perhaps more importantly, there's a wider therapeutic dose range (I mean difference in dosage between desired effects and delirium) for DPH than scopolamine, so I'll say it's probably going to be better for such purposes.

I have used datura tea for its sedative effects before though, with some success (not really recreational).

Also, while looking around I found this thread of yours from last year, which makes me think there is more to what you wanna know than what has been stated. So, what is the nature of your interest? If purely academic I'd get to reading some medical books/articles/stuff rather than asking on here, but if you want something else, go ahead and ask.
