Howdy tootin.'
So I was at my local super market and decided to check the Tylenol's for codiene, as I know it's found in Tylenol but didn't find any. I also checked at my local drug store and non with codiene was to be found. I checked other places with no success.
My question's to you is this:
Is codiene really over the counter? Why can't I find it in any places I've looked? If it's available to you, then what kind of store did you find it? Oh ya... and what's the meaning of life?
Thank's.

Codeine is not over the counter in the United States. It might be in Canada, but I'm not sure.

It is OTC in canada but you have to ask for it cause it's actually kept behind the counter.

The only codeine that I know of that is OTC in Canada is Tylenol #1 which contains only 8mg codeine and 500mg APAP, so a cold-water extraction is necessary to use them recreationally.

I know for a fact that codiene cough syrup w/guafenisin (10/100 per 5 ml) can be purchased over the counter in a four oz bottle. You have to ask for it @ the pharmacy counter, and they may check ID, (must be 1 8) and sign a ledger. Also, the sale is at the pharmacist's discretion. Oh, and in larger cities, like wichita, KC, and Topeka, they don't carry the OTC prep. Mostly just smaller towns and the burbs. The price is anywhere from 5-10 bucks. I know that some states don't allow this kind of thing, but I'm sure that there are others that do. To find out, just start calling local pharmacies and ask if they carry "the small bottles of Robitussin AC (or generic) that you sign the book for." Where I live (small college town) they sell it @ walmart, walgreens, and the major chain grocery stores.

Best advice I can give you is don't waste your time and money on codeine. And yes guanifesinin when taken in large amounts will make you sick.

Codeine is available in canada over the counter but the amount of codeine compared to the rest of the meds mixed with it is too small for rec use they're called 222's over there.
