Is anything known about the pharmacology of Thebaine?

i still dont understand why suboxone makes me feel weirder than other opiates. i read it is full on thebaine derivative. i wonder if that has a lot to do with it.

In case the above did not make it clear: Being a thebaine derivative has fucking nothing to do with the activity of the final product. It has to do with the final chemical structure of the drug, not what it's derived from. Thebaine is too closely related to all of the 'modern' opioids to say that 'oh, oxycodone is a thebaine derivative'. Morphine or codeine could be considered thebaine derivatives too!

Buprenorphine is a Diels-alder adduct of naloxone or something that adds a humongous carbon chain that fudges the binding. It is closely related to some of the ultrapotent non-fentanyl veterinary drugs like etorphine. It's a mu partial agonist (mu agonistic effects are from its 1' metabolite) which is why I say it's a comparatively shite drug to the fullagonists when it comes to abuse. The wierdness that you're feeling could be from its effects as a kappa opioid antagonist (opposite of salvia).
