Misc Is anyone else IVing because it's the healthiest option?

sorry my friend I have only done IV drugs that are bad for you I don't think there will be many people on here who have your condition it sounds rare or many people who need to hook up their own IV due to medical issues so maybe you will just have to review all this with your doctor your concerns and making sure you have the proper technique for hooking up an IV so you will be prepared when the time comes. Believe it or not your doctor could probally put you more at ease than the internet can lol who woulda thought I thought we only needed
Wi-Fi to learn as much as doctors do;)

@trainspotter10102 yea I get that and I have been in desperate situations just not that bad I guess- I've gotten cotton fever before and I'm tracked out from not rotating veins or whatever but I'm lucky I've never been homeless and our needle laws aren't stringent you can walk in a pharmacy and get them. I'm fortunate I see that.

yea man just trying to show its not that simple I always hear from people well just don't share needles dumbass or just use new needles eevrytime but its more complicated than that and especially places where you cant buy needles cause the place puts restrictions on them to keep addicts from getting them (dumb I know lets give everyone hep C from sharing old needles that'll solve a lot of problems).
im lucky here too where im from its not hard to get a syringe we have needle exchanges/safe injection sites where we can go and shoot up in a sterile medical supervised setting with all the supplies needed for free and pharmacy's carry them along with filters but still all these places are not open 24/7 leaving times a desperate addict may say fuck it lets share that syringe I cant wait till it opens.

Yea... I have done grosser stuff than I like to admit. I've shared needles just not often-- often with one person, a couple of times with another 2 friends and thats it. But, one time we had nothing and this guy brought us a needle used and we ran bleach through it then water like a million times... i doubt that helps but I have done crazy shit but I know how serious it can get.

I think we can all agree here that the term "healthiest" was probably not the best choice of words but I can definitely see where BlueIV is coming from and can sympathize.

Long story short: I inject IM/SC dilaudid for chronic pain. I chose to do it that way because of extremely low oral BA. When my pain starts to flare up I have a very limited window in which to act before that pain becomes debilitating so I turned to IM/SC injections to speed up the effect.

I take many precautions, use sterile equipment, fresh syringe every time, etc

It may not be the healthiest option but it is the most efficient and it keeps me out of the ER.

Up side... Since injecting has a super high BA (if not 100%) and much faster (I get relief typically within 15-45 mins depending on where the shot actually ended up)effect I've actually managed to reduce the amount of medicine I need to take when the pain flares up... Where I once required 8-12mg of pills to have an effect(if any) I can now use as little as 1.5mg (by volume) worth of the medication in a single shot. I know injecting is dangerous but for me personally so far it's been entirely worth it.

I hope you're using micron filters, otherwise IM/SC pills is just begging for an abscess, or health problems down the road caused by residua; binders.

who's to say he's not Rx'ed ampules or Dilaudid powder for injection (yes the latter exists; check Purdue's Rx products)
