Is Alcohol Worse Than Ecstasy?

^Yup, that's about right.
MDMA gets a much worse rap than it deserves and alcohol doesn't get nearly as much bad publicity as it should. :\

I've made bad decisions while drunk about taking additional drugs.

I've never made a bad decision while rolling about taking additional drugs.

Myself and my fiance were good friends for 2 years and would do MDMA while I was still in another relationship, and nothing inappropriate and sexual ever happened (even though we were both attracted to each other), I remember every moment of it. We didn't kiss until we were drunk in Vegas on my birthday (a good decision, but still- alcohol makes you do things you wouldn't sober).

I drink weekly (if not twice a week), and often I regret something I said, did etc. I've never really felt that way about MDMA...I've managed to actually conduct myself in a professional scenario effectively on MDMA (albeit a night club meeting). If anything MDMA has made me say or do things I am happy I got the courage to do.

MDMA can very rarely be used and still be in the safety range, you can drink way more frequently. I love MDMA but overall for how people typically go about using drugs, I would say MDMA is worse than alcohol. Even with infrequent rolling, it still takes your brain a few months to recuperate. There are areas where alcohol is safer, and that is frequency of use.

Both are different drugs with different uses, both when used responsibly are safe. I saw the video above last year, not a fan of ranking drugs in terms of safety. Too many new people will take the facts the wrong way. Each drug has its own unique way of being used safely.

Funny how that video, and the well put together Ecstasy Rising video, both claim how safe the drug is, but make no reference that you can only use it a small number of times per year. After watching those videos, you'd think E is safe to do every weekend.

MDMA is far worse than alcohol. Try taking mdma everyday for 1 year straight, then compare that to someone who drinks alcohol for 1 year straight. Everyday.

The results would speak for themselves. Alcohol while toxic, does not compare to mdma in any way in terms of amount of usage vs deficits received.

I actually know someone who took MDMA daily for a year. You build tolerance and it doesn't affect you as much as it did. Eventually your body gets accustom to the abuse, and tries to reach a level of homeostasis. Not saying MDMA is safe to take everyday, that is irresponsible, but people who drink alcohol heavily everyday tend to be a little -tarded. and not e-tarded, it's more like A-tarded. It's different, but I would call them similar and comparable ;)

lol @ "MDMA is FAR worse than alcohol"

I think a lot of people overlook the toxicity and abuse potential of alcohol, simply because it's legal? lol that is silly. Alcohol is highly toxic and damaging to all the internal organs - brain/liver/kidneys/stomach especially

I'd imagine if you compare pills to drinks though, ya I'd say drinks are less damaging than each pill, but MDMA lacks the abuse/physical addiction aspect alcohol has, when MDMA is in it's pure form, unadulterated with methamphetamine, etc.

When you take MDMA two days in a row, you don't get nearly the same feeling, so it would be pointless. Alcohol you get the same feeling everyday, you may need to drink a little more, but it's the same feeling every time.

But ya, just because I know somebody who took it irresponsible, I wouldn't do it. The mysterious person had a serious case of depression they had battled and shitty SSRI's never seemed to help. They are most certainly an exception. I would strongly advise against that........

Until MDMA is legalized, there wont be enough pharmaceutical grade stuff around to do really intricate studies on toxicity. Right now the studies that have been done have been mostly on street "XTC" tablet users that have had god knows what in their tabs and other drugs they have taken.

There's no doubt it's a drug, but evidence has shown with responsible use, it can be relatively safe (responsible use = one dose 3-4x per year max).

Because it is not physically addictive like alcohol, the potential for it to become habit forming is much less.

The problem that arises with MDMA with physical addiction is it is often on the street cut with addictive compounds like meth or caffeine.

But ya, rolling everyday is stupid and needs to be 3-4x a year max.

Well that is certainly one reason MDMA will probably never be fully decriminalized. People, by nature, cannot moderate themselves. They have a good experience and will stop at nothing to recreate that high, even if it's as innocent as eating brownies.

That list is retarded, and ranking drugs on which one is worse than another is silly. We all know they're all bad for you. Also, I feel like in these types of studies they incorporate too many categories (long-term effects, dependency, addiction, physical harm, social disruption etc) when in reality they should probably just make a list for each category. For example, Heroin is only #1 because it's highly addictive and socially it fucks you up worse than any other drug (exceptions being potentially Crack and Meth). However, it would be silly to say the Heroin is worse for you physically then some of the drugs ranked below it.

The reason MDMA is ranked so low is because it causes little social disruption (IMO) and isn't very addictive. It's my opinion however that MDMA is worse for you physically than many of the drugs ranked above it, which is a big reason I don't take it anymore.

Also, can you post a link to the story?

That's what education is for. I Know education doesn't really mean shit when it comes to physically addictive drugs. Once your addicted, for many it's extremely hard to stop. Education can prevent psychological addiction though.

IMO, any drug used everyday is going to be bad for health. weed is the only thing I can see daily use being somewhat safe.
