last Saturday was the 3rd time my cousin had used Molly and she left the experience disappointed. The rest of the party was just drinking and the discussion turned to questions involving many factors that could have dampened her roll. Throughout the night she said she felt very mild body highs yet a lot of empathy and relaxed feelings. She took two pills over the duration if 3 hours and has never spaced out pills that long before. no jaw clench or sensation of "rolling balls".

the big questions are as follows:

does being around blackout drunk people decrease the quality of the roll? she said both the incoherency and angry nature of the drunks were very irritating and at times she could not feel the roll at all until she stepped away from them and listened to music

did she space out the pills too long?

was it a bad pill? she did not buy from the usual source but did buy from a friends source and said friend did take the same pills with her that night.

Would a conflict with a loved one who was disapproving of the activities also dampen the roll?

I guess the main question of concern would be: is her not feeling the rolls intensity be indicative of "losing the magic"? Like I said this was her 3rd time rolling and is still in her honeymoon period (hopefully?) but has spaces out the other rolls 5 weeks each.

thanks for the feedback

welcome to bluelight :)

yeh it can but it doesnt have to be bad necessarily. set & setting!

totally subjective. three hours isnt really all that long apart but i doubt the peaks would have overlapped with a three hr gap between.
was it a bad pill?
how would we know? chances are high for acquiring a shit pill though.

yes it could but again not necessarily. set & setting. this falls under the setting category.

difficult to say. i suspect she probably just had average below average candy.

Set and setting can absolutely play a role in your experience. Although, I don't think it as big of a factor as psychedelics. I think a bigger factor is taking untested pills.
The setting of a house party is not ideal in my opinion. So for me that would certainly bring my experience down a little. Although, i do know people who enjoy rolling at a house parties. I don't like drunks so that would contribute to a poor experience. But, when your rolling on some high quality MDMA it's pretty easy to get lost in the moment. A 3 hour gap before redosing is ideal in my opinion so I dont see that being a huge factor.

I'm a firm believer that it is a strong mediator of how enjoyable a roll can be. Just like you're friend, I've had bad experiences with drunk/coke people. I've been at festivals where drunk people are moshing and being roudy. It absolutely killed my peak to the point where I wasn't even enjoying it. Then I moved tents and found nicer people on MDMA and suddenly I was peaking with mega euphoria despite being 2 hours 30 into the experience.

I also attend raves with MC's, whistles and horns which create an ever better atmosphere of euphoria. In my opinion, the people and the atmosphere are really important to the enjoyment of the overall experience.

Unfortunately, there is NO way we can tell if it was a bad pill unless it has been tested. For that matter, neither can you.. look into a Reagent testing kit, this could easily be blamed on a bad pill but since no one knows what she took (including her :\) no one can say for sure.

Also, I find tolerance for MDMA and similar drugs to kick in very fast. Redosing after an hour or two is generally not very effective, the sooner the better. Again though, if you have not tested the pills you shouldn't be taking ANY of them.

but, no. I would say it is next to impossible to "lose the magic" (AKA deal with long term serotonin downregulation) from only 3 uses

hah, gosh I hate MCs. Usually just some bloke yelling nonsense into the mic and fucking up the song :p All the recorded sets from Defqon are crap because they recorded it live (not digitally) so not only is some random dude yelling out nonsense, he is doing so in horrible quality!

I used to agree with you about MC's, before I tried MDMA and attended raves with them there. I find they can really get me pumped up, especially on the comedown. The stuff is often gibberish but enjoyable gibberish!
