Introductions to Psychedelia.

I've recently piqued a few interests.

So now my question is this: What would the community consider the best introduction to psychedelics?

I'm considering something empathogenic like 2C-I, however I also want the experience to be fun and enjoyable.
Perhaps a tryptamine like 4-HO-MET would be more suitable?

I'd be interested to what the community thinks about this.

NOTE: This is not intended to be a "What should I take?" thread at all..
Introducing people to these compounds and experiences can be harrowing.
The diversity of reactions to RCs can cause many adverse effects, and these can lead to affective experiences that may not be very beneficial, that may even be detrimental to the health of the initiate!

In fact, one curious associate of mine has had serious issues that he is finally beginning to recover from.
There is still healing to take place, and I am sure a proper psychedelic experience would affect him very positively.
However, I cannot imagine the consequences of a mishap.. I'm worried myself, because I do care for him.
I don't want to risk too much, but he is set on this, so I am doing the research.

If he's set on it, why don't you tell him to do some reading and see which ones stand out to him? Maybe compile a little link list for him.(this applies of course to the fact that you're talking about someone else.)

I would tell someone with interest to check out things like;
5-meo-Dalt
2c-i of course would be a pretty positive and easy going first experience.
MXE, I've found to be helpful to many people.

Of course where you take it will be a big factor. If it's somewhere super comfortable I don't see plunging into LSD being a negative first time experience. Of course dosage depending.

Well, there are a few different friends I have. I would also be indulging myself, and thus need something I will also enjoy. Haha, ultimately my decision is the final; so I will do the research. Thank you for the 5-MeO-DALT suggestion, that seems to be a popular idea.

Do you really think MXE as a first time experience would be good?
I would think that the first trip should be bright and beautiful, not only therapeutic..
I mean, if you miss the beauty of it all, you're kinda missing a big part of it.

Is this going to be your first experience? And are you and your friends into smoking pot?

I wouldn't under estimate it.[MXE]
You don't hunt down a hole-like experience right off the bat, you know?
Sure it's different, but a fairly smooth ride if done at a low to medium level dose. It can be a very confident, positive, social, and enlightening of an experience. It perhaps would help prep you better for the mental aspect of tripping. Which maybe, could be the more hectic part of most psychedelics as opposed to seeing pretty colors. Once you have the feel for being tapped in then you can appreciate visuals easier in the future.(Just speculative, really)
DALT maybe would be lacking a certain level of magic for a first experience, if that's what you're after. I think MXE could project you to some nice insights to go forward with.
Though DALT can be a lot of fun, and that is always memorable, and sometimes what can be all you were seeking. That could be viewed as therapeutic to a certain extent I suppose.
Experiment with both at different times.
You would definitely be missing a big part of it if you dismissed it simply as not being colorful, & thus not being beautiful. You, then, certainly would be "missing a big part of it."
Experiment, because there's no definitive answer & no miracle pill, but there's various things out there that come close, all in their own ways.

I've turned on a few people now. I've found the most successful to be moderate dose DMT - right around 30-35mg. This dose produces some really nice visuals and a good body feel without being overwhelming, and the great advantage of DMT is that its over pretty quickly so if for some reason somebody absolutely hates it they don't have to deal with 8 hours of it. A lot of people start with mushrooms, but I don't see how they do it. I've taken my fair share of psychedelics and mushrooms by far have the most potential to completely break someone down. If we're insisting on the all-day thing, go for mescaline or LSD. Mescaline would really be the ideal, it's got an overwhelmingly positive air about it.

No, I've done plenty of MXE. I find it to be good for introspection and very deep, complex thought, but I also find that I can become quite antisocial due to being so far in my own head. I was planning on saving MXE for when she begins actually navigating and utilizing the psychedelic experiences; gotta swim before you can sail, or else it's just dangerous.. You could drown ha. And a smaller dose just doesn't amount to a psychedelic experience, IMHO.
Neither of these two friends do drugs, but one other does. Weed won't be used though. Even I've taken a bit of an aversion to smoking lately..
And of course I meant aesthetic beauty. The entirety of life is beautiful, even the ugly parts, but I think aesthetics are a somewhat necessary (if a bit romantic) component of the ideal experience, especially an initial trip. I mean, although they're entering into this with a much better mindset, when I first used psychedelics, I don't think I would have taken to them as well as I have if I had only experienced the mental aspect of it.

Actually, I'm most considering now though a combination of 4-HO-MET and 5-MeO-DALT.

Also, I couldn't imagine dosing DMT for my initial experience. I'd have been blown out of the water, even with a moderate dose.

I would say mescaline, so smooth and easygoing.

But I believe the biggest reason a persons first experience will be good or bad depends a lot more on set and setting and the person.
