For those who read RSS newsfeeds, try out the new DITM RSS Newsfeeds:
Drugs in the Media feed
Drugs in the Media Front Page feed
What is RSS?
RSS is a format for syndicating news and the content of news-like sites, including major news sites like Wired, news-oriented community sites like Slashdot, and personal weblogs. Yahoo has an extensive line of RSS feeds that includes stories from the AP, Reuters, and many newspapers.
How do I use this?
To read the RSS format, you will need a program called a news aggregator. I am using FeedReader, but there are many other aggregators available for practically every platform.
Ok, so why do I care?
News aggregators allow you to read many feeds in one program, and are quicker than web browsing because they load the compact RSS format in the background, so you are able to view them any time. You can scan headlines and read a brief description of an article and decide to read the whole thing or move on.
How does the feed work?
To create the RSS feed, the first page of the forum is downloaded and reformatted into RSS. If you use FeedReader (and probably other aggregators), new threads will appear at the top of the list, after the first time you load the threads. This also happens with old threads bumped to the front page.
Other Bluelight feeds:
Current Events and Politics feed
These feeds are still in the beta stages. Please let me know if you experience any errors. This is not a service of Bluelight.nu; please do not ask other staff members for help with this feature.
