Introducing others to (N,N-)DMT this weekend. Best way for them to prepare? Tips?

I have two friends, one holds a B.A. and the other an M.S (meaning they're intelligent and not just "Drug users")

Both have experimented with psychedelics in the past, mainly mushrooms but M.S. has done crystal LSD (where the fuck...)

Anyways. I was gifted some N,N-DMT a couple of weeks ago and largely due to an overly powerful experience I had last summer I hadn't used it until I tried a keybump on some pot on Friday. Good stuff!

Anyways, I told them to find 3-4 songs they want to hear (though they may not hear them)

I told them I (or their S/O) can hold their hands during the XP as to "keep them grounded" (Though for a +4 on DMT, you can't feel or hear anything but the XP)

Anyhow, I figured I'd let them try a small dose (smoked) first, then discuss and have the traditional 1 hour cooldown period them up the dosage to something that would produce a +3 and hopefully a +4 (both of them deserve a +4)

How can I make this experience:

A) Enjoyable
B) Life changing
C) Comfortable

There's going to be six of us, 3 users (myself included as I'd like another +4 under my belt) and 3 non-users.

I know how powerful DMT is after having some difficult experiences and I just want to make this as smooth for them as possible which I know is impossible with DMT but you know I love my friends. <3

Thanks for the suggestions

DMT is a psychedelic drug, so I'll move this to Psychedelic Drugs for you.

I don't think you can personally ensure that this will be a positive and comfortable experience for them. Intense psychedelic experiences aren't necessarily always positive and comfortable.

I think it's also important to remember that no matter what you experience, even if it's frightening, depressing, depersonalizing, or even horrifying, that doesn't mean you can't gain meaning, patience, and perspective out of the experience. This would be my advice.

Relaaaaax. Make sure they can be in no immediate physical peril, like near flight of stairs, no sharp corners, etc.

The rest of it is at the mercy of whichever mind is taking it. It's powerful. =D

EDIT: For instance, someone I knew did a large hit and after some time in an outwardly apparent "sleep mode", he jumped up, eyes wide, and screamed, rather primordially.

He later explained that his whole body had turned orange and that he felt like he could "destroy the fucking world". "Now I know why the Aztecs ripped out hearts and shit". =)

Also, for one of my sub-hyperspace trips, music contributed to it greatly and made it quite recreational. I know some people get wary of the word recreation with respect to psychedelics, but I feel there's nothing inherently wrong with having a fucking blast.

Another one was outside nature noise only.

I absolutely agree on the last paragraph. My +4 on DMT wasn't fun but it wasn't harmful either. Just kinda peeled back the veil that was over my brain and third eye. DMT can be very depersonalizing due to ego death.

I just don't want them to be like "Goddamn Volcano, why'd you talk me into this?" -- though no one I've introduced before this has said this, but these are two of my closest friends and due to geographical location we've 3 never been in the same place at the same time.

Music is great for +2 and +3 experiences. I enjoy a low dose 20-30mg smoked watching a trippy vid listening to some good music.

I'll be honest, mushrooms are weak on my body and LSD lasts too long (yes, 6 hours is too long for me). The only long lasting drug I've enjoyed to an extreme extent is MDMA but I cannot do that anymore (choose not to) due to a rare nerve disorder near my jaw. And no, MDMA did not cause this.

I don't do DMT often, like I said I was "gifted" this VERY precious supply (that includes a quarter inch crystal that weighs about a point and a half. Great work kid!)

Provide a safe setting, a controlled environment where you are not disturbed.
Take care of preparation in the form of relaxation and an almost ritual approach to ingesting it. Don't sit around riled up exciting to see a friend go insane, just give each other space and put on some beautiful carrying music and hang back.

When the time comes to take it, decide that you will accept whatever happens and just go along with it - if you resist the intensity you can interpret it as insanity while if you don't resist it you can interpret it as extreme imagination and flying through a land made of that. It can be very intense but it will be over if you ride it out, much like a rollercoaster only one that can go beyond any idea of reality you've witnessed before.

Ease up on the expectations though, expectations can distort it and keep you from 'just experiencing'. Keep an open mind and just let the whole thing take you where it will. If you don't emphasize the 'life changing' aspects of it too much then there is a better occasion to be given a special gift.

Yeah that is strange I never heard of Students who were habitual drug users.

If they are experienced with pysch's they should know that there is no such thing as a guaranteed good trip. If you think they are going to blame you if it goes sideways then maybe you should let them seek out it out for themselves rather than put yourself in that situation.

That being said hyperspace has always been very kind to me and they will very probably be thanking you for giving them the chance to experience something so wonderful.

Oh, don't take it wrong. I just meant they're educated. I wouldn't give DMT to anyone under 25 probably. Their fields of study are those that would be conducive to psychedelic personal research.

My group of drug friends, we pretty much all hold at least a Bachelors. Just the kind of kids I run around with. A more mature group, indeed.

Just having a degree is no guarantee of intelligence. I am still working on my degree, so I am not one of the " educated" you refer to, but I know people with a degree who couldn't find their asshole with both hands and a flashlight. I know a guy with a masters in organic. Chem that didn't know silver could oxidize.

Again, their fields of study are conducive to personal psychedelic research.

I am not implying you need a damn degree to do DMT, was just trying to provide some background information on what kind of people they are.

Personally I find having a degree from a reputable University a sign of dedication.

Dim-lit room....
Psy Trance...
Plenty of blankets and pillows...
Chore Boy
Glass pipe
A good amount of DMT.... wanna make sure everyone blasts off.... unless they are extremely inexperienced with the psychedelic mindstate... some people haven't done psychedelics, but you can sense they have a mind for it.... they may be ready for a breakthrough.... especially if it is carefully explained to them.

Have the user sit in the center of the floor surrounded by blankets and pillows. Have the onlookers sit around the user in a semi circle... have 1 person help blast the user off. It makes it much easier for a first timer to blast off if they are told what to do.... it is also easier if you have done it a whole lot of times and you can see the transformation happen in the person.... its easy to tell when they got the full dose. The euphoria is incredible and it will show. Helping light the pipe and instructing the user on the breathing patterns is key... a lot of times the user won't break through because he did not suck hard enough to get enough smoke or he didn't hold it in long enough....

Blasting off is difficult... and sometimes it can be confusing... when you aren't so sure if you got there or not.... you'll know when you get full effects... it will change your view of other experiences if you haven't broken through before.

..... Also breaking through newcomers in the woods during the day can be a special experience.

I've helped and have seen people helped quite a few times now... and every time the user breaks through it is completely beautiful... They got tossed by it... and when they come back they are stunned, but completely thankful...
Sometimes the user doesn't breakthrough and it may bring an awkwardness or confusion to the situation...

This is only in my experience though... I still have a lot to learn.

I usually like to bring people to the forest for their first attempt. Have something nice to sit down on or a blanket to lay on. Though in winter it is not quite as nice as the green that has positively impacted my experiences is somewhat lacking. But still being surrounded by trees or near a nice body of water can have incredible consequences despite not being aware of the trees or water during the experience.

Another thing is that I personally prefer not to have a bunch of people waiting and watching me with baited breath to see how the experience went. I very very much so prefer to go into the experience with as little people present as possible.

The ratio of users to non-users is 3:3 and the non-users will be located in a different room.

I've deemed having a bunch of people in the room and CNN on the TV not the optimal way from my OWN trials. Oh the puns...

^ Yea, it sounds like such an interior "only-for-me" thing that I would be uncomfortable in the middle of a circle with a bunch of expectant gawkers staring at me. Talk about performance anxiety!

The way it totally disconnects you from the social realm, it seems like various automatic guilt/embarrassment mental programs could kick in if you were amongst a group of people. Doing it in a group sounds a little like masturbating in a department store display window on a busy street.

I would think ideal for first-time help would be ONLY the tripper, and the ONE experienced assistant, who promises to NOT interfere, to be respectful and reverential, and to only be present to help and act as assistant in the very rare event of some physical issue... essentially as an anxiety antidote.

But doing something that sends me into my own little spacetime bubble, in the middle of a circle of people staring at me? Ewwww.... I dunnno, sounds sorta creepy.

Well, to be honest, if you do it right you won't even know those people are there.

Now, if you're just smoking casually (and I don't really advocate this) to get +2 and +3 trips then YES you will know of your surroundings but if you hit the +4 you're gone and we won't see you again until you reemerge.

The worst thing I saw was a new guy last summer was in a +4 and started coughing 2-3 minutes in but quit on his own.

The environment going into and coming out of hyperspace always have a profound effect on my experience within hyperspace.

lololol...

Clearly you hold the academic world in much higher esteem than I do

Wow, did this conversation take a negative spin.

When did having an education make you a bad person. I mean most of you believe in science and chemistry right? Well science and chemistry can't exist without academia.

Suck it college dropouts (in before someone says "I have a degree, I just think you're over sensationalizing our school system.")

Thank you for making your 87th post in 4 years to my thread.
