I'm a female who is sometimes working on sobriety and sometimes indulging headlong. Ultimately, I'd like to be drug free, but I feel so much more emotionally balanced and able to face life when I'm using. My drugs of choice are Percocet and Valium, which make a nice cocktail, in my opinion. I have terrible anxiety and C-PTSD. I get all my pills legally, due to legit chronic and acute pain; however, as I'm sure many of you know, emotional pain hurts so much more. I found Bluelight a couple years ago when I was looking for advice on what I could mix, and to what degree. I appreciate both the users who share their experience and those who are sober sharing how they overcame.

Greetings nischne and welcome to Bluelight :)

I understand the battle between wanting to be drug free, and relying on a drug to keep one's sanity. It is a hard battle to fight, but you are not alone in this. If serious about tapering down, and curious about other's experience while tapering off as you mentioned, check out Sober Living, where members share their stories and support each other in their battle with addiction/dependence.

Wherever you end up, i hope you take a good look around the forums because there is literally something to fit one's every interest, from drugs to music to current events.

Peace!

Thank you for the welcome and for the tip to the Sober Living forum. I'll check that out. I hope you have a great weekend. Peace to you.

...I'd like to be drug free,...

...how they overcame.
Hi from another; but this welcome is more of a question... sorry.
Anxiety and stress disorder? Knowing first-hand how this can be debilitating and quite hellacious (in a not so good way), why would one want to be free from drugs? Or is there more substances involved other than opioid and benzo? For the record: I could not function very well without these drugs or something that could effectively displace/replace them. Not being the friendliest person at base-line... without something to dampen the symptoms of anxiety and pts I would even hate myself (which makes it even worse for those around me) and this snowballs.
I guess there are drug-free alternative(s) but to be honest, I haven't found it/them and would love to find some alternative(s) that works for me: I just had to find something less numbing, harmful and dangerous.
Of course one would probably (hopefully) be in the know of how dangerous it is to mix opiates and benzos??? so I wont hammer on that.
Hope to "see" ya around.
Take care and please be careful.
