Hi, I am a 20 year old student living in Ontario, Canada.
Since an early age I struggled with sobriety. Alcohol, uppers, downers, hallucinogens and various other substances have provided me with good and bad experiences through out the many years I abused them. I am now at a point in my life that I like to visually project in my mind as a fork in the road. Either I can slowly but surely surrender to my desires and thinking patterns by delving deeper into my addictions, or I can pursue the goal of finishing my post secondary education and attaining a healthy state of being.
It is difficult to make this transition, and I joined this forum to make the process more stable. Reading some of the experiences on here fills me with confidence, and this will help me avoid dwelling on the past. To be surrounded by temptation but still surpass mental desires and physical cravings is not enjoyable but many actions that are beneficial in the long run must seem unbelievably challenging and worthless at first.
