Intravenous question about any drug

Nice going guys... you both have valuable info to contribute, but instead you argued and I will now lock this thread...

"I am not one of those weak-spirited, sappy Americans who want to be liked by all the people around them. I don't care if people hate my guts; I assume most of them do. The important question is: 'What are they in a position to do about it?'" (William S. Burroughs)

I, too am new at this, but on occasions, I have gone right through the vein as I had the needle angle too sharp, while watching for the cloud. Sometimes, when I know I'm in, I will draw back and then go right through accidently. It bruises me for about 4-5 days and the swelling lasts about 24 hours. I should get someone to show me how!
(Im a girl, I bruise easily). If you decrease the anlge between needle and arm it seems to help.

Look after yourself

I hate when that shit happen. I've IVed only a few times, maybe 5, and 2 or 3 times that happened. The bruised looks al ot worse than it feels, almost like a blister covering my entire inner wrist. Good to hear that it's not that bad for you.

Injecting outside a vein is bad for you, like I stated. The particles might not be completly soluable in the cut and will form an absess around the vein and can lead to complications. Even if you don't inject, you want to avoid stress on the vein. If you overly abuse the vein trying to stay in it, or get it in right, you can cause a number of problems such as your vein becoming hard and unusable, or colapsing.
Just incase anyone wants to know my IVing experience....I've IVed 100-150 times...IMed probably 10-20 times. I am experienced enough that when I IV I only leave a tiny red dot that is gone within 24 hours, never bruise. I probably don't hit the vein and stay in the first try once every 20 IVs now....So my knowledge is solid....
