There's something I’ve been wondering about. Most drugs such as heroin will work intramuscularly, whether you IM it on purpose or miss a shot it will still get absorbed and you'll feel the effects. Now with cocaine that doesn't seem to be the case. If you miss a shot of coke thereby it being an IM or SC shot you don't feel shit, it's a wasted shot. Why is that? Does the coke not get absorbed into the blood stream like heroin and other injectables, cocaine seems to be the only drug I’m aware of that doesn't work IM. The best theory I can come up with is that it either gets all absorbed into the nerves in the area thus numbing it, or it gets absorbed so slowly into the bloodstream you don't feel the effects, that may be caused by the fact that cocaine is metabolized so fast that if it takes 20 minutes to get all absorbed into the blood within those 20 minutes it's all be already metabolised and thus no effects, whereas take herin for example if it takes 20 minutes for it all to enter the blood stream only a small fraction has been nmetablised into inactive metabolites by that point so it still has it's ull affect. Another possible theory is that I just doesn't get absorbed into the capillaries and blood veins for some reason and stays localized where you injected. Anyone know the answer. Thanks.
PS- I've seen charts that say for example heroin has a bioavailability of 100% IV obviously but only 80% IM, why is that, your injecting the full dose into your body so shouldn't it also be 100% or am i misunderstanding something here.
