Hi there. I had never seen this site but I am glad to be part of such a well informed and responsible group. My issue is major depression and anxiety, like for 42 years, first ten self medicating with pot. Almost every day for the last 25 years I have been depressed, melancholic, anxious, or both; when not depressed I have disassociative disorder, depersonalization, anhaedonia -- whatever you want to call it: no pleasure or desire, at best an interest in things. I feel as if I observing life from afar -- often through a fog like at the seashore, both cognitively and in terms of my emotional reaction. How do you describe "nothing"? I am in life, but not of it.
I have been able to work off and on, and for that I am grateful. After 42 years I will try anything. For years now, fluoxetine, bupropion, adderall. I have been on 30 drugs and know a lot as a lay person about SSRI's, NSRI's, benzos, stimulants and now oxy from reading Medline (Pubmed) since the 1990's (like when I have nothing else to do, which is often). I am the go to person among friends and acquaintances -- but you will always get a qualified layperson answer to a question.
Oh, I have been doing tai chi -- yoga not being my thing -- for a few decades and that has helped. My Chinese martial arts master says if I continue to practice I can live to be 120 -- yikes!!! He also said I would be able to fly like the characters in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon."
Now researching oxy and ketamine, and know pluses and minuses of both, but always pleased to hear anyone's opinion or experience, or both. Thanks, D
