This isn't a trip report but I must unveil at least part of the trip to have you understand my question.
You can skip the into which is just me describing how I got to this point of hallucinating:

I had been smoking some herb kindly with a friend got fairly high, on my way home stopped at a friends house ended up smoking a giant jay which got me +++ stoned. I started having a bad trip tho, I was nodding out almost like from opiates ( I am on suboxone) and I was getting a very nauseated feeling, which I never have gotten from weed. I started feeling very light headed and felt as if I needed to throw up. I gagged a few times and left immediately for home. Once home i felt slightly better but very high.

I layed down, closed my eyes and noticed these intense patterns. Focusing on the patterns images started to emerge from the nonsense. I thought they were random at first, but I noticed by thinking about them I could change them into whatever image I wanted, pumpkin, banana, each item would emerge and do some random thing like disappear or fly away like a power point slide transition. While focusing on them I could feel my "third eye"( that I feel during mostly mushroom trips/ but some LSD trips) sort of lock on to the images I could feel them in my head. It then turned into a random array of extremely fast moving cartoons, I could clearly see several 2d dog characters doing random things like driving a car etc a whole 15 min cartoon sketch playing at 10x normal speed, with music and a person singing cartoons like.

Now to my connection. This experience I had with weed reminded me almost exactly to a more cognitive state of Hypnagogia which is dreaming while being conscious with only 2d random images. The only difference was that the closed eyed hallucinations/dreams during Hypnagogia should be without narrative and my cartoon hallucination was narrated to a point but not completely since it was extremely fast.

Could the weed have unlocked my abbility to dream/imagine openly and vividly??

It honestly felt like I was tapping into a television broadcast the waves hitting my 3rd eye and projecting it to my brain.

I don't know anything about the hypnagogia connection, but those CEVs you got are the same CEVs I get when high. I get them every time I get high (assuming I'm decently high), and I can control them like you can. I also get the "third eye" sensation, and I'm not sure why it happens. The first time I got really high, I had the most intense closed eye trips while focusing on the third eye.

I have noticed my hynagogia recently (I think you were the one posting stuff in the other thread with me), but I'm unsure of what the connection to drugs/weed this has.

Also, if you ever get this high again, you might get OEVs like I do. Try crossing your eyes and kind of zoning out. This usually helps everything in my visual field turn into a cartoon, and then I can play with it and get crazy OEVs. I'm actually taking a break from smoking right now so I can trip again when I do smoke. I usually throw up when really high by the way, and I think an empty stomach lessens the nausea.

Your description of weed CEVs is very close to my own experience of them.

For me they were very vivid and easy to make out but pretty banal: just silly cartoonish images, like a dog driving a cartoon car up a purple rainbow and then disappearing, weird dancing stick figures, stuff like that. They were constantly changing from one scene to the next, moved in repetitive patterns, and followed music.

That used to happen all the time to me if I got high enough but I haven't experienced anything like that in years.

I didn't get any "third-eye effects" myself.

I wouldn't say that they're similar to hypnagogia. I've had some pretty intense hypnagogic experiences before and they were nothing like the weed CEVs, but YMMV.

sounds just like the cev's i have every night before i go to sleep

Hmm now that I think about it actually . . .

See in my original post I was confusing sleep paralysis with hypnagogia. I'd forgotten that hynagogia was actually that period between wakefulness and sleep. I haven't had very many hynagogic experiences in my life, maybe 20, but they *were* very similar to the weed CEVs. Brightly colored, random and banal images rapidly changing and morphing into eachother. The hypnagogic visions were more intense and three-dimensional but definitely extremely close to the weed ones.

That's pretty damn interesting. Too bad weed CEVs are so rare that it'd be hard to do research on it.

Yeah I have only had one other case of hallucinations from weed when I was less experienced. This episode came as a shock to me since I thought my tolerance was fairly back to normal. They were very close to my hapnagogia episodes I have had recently, they were less geometrical because it wasn't all random it was me manipulating it slightly, while my hapnagogia episodes were completely random although probably most likely influenced sub-consciously.

I want to try and repeat the event by smoking copious amounts after my next pick up of primo ganja.

I will also attempt to have a hapnagonia experience tonight to compare, (although it is scary:?)

I'm sure since weed makes your connection to your imagination stronger and clearer that this has an effect on your third eye (pineal gland) which creates the visual images you see when you imagine things normally. I'm guessing that I was able to tap in to this connection momentarily and use it for its great and intense capability's. If I had known what was going on sooner I would have been able to have an even greater experience.
