Insane Ringing in Ears from Vicodin

I've recently been taking 20-25mg of Hydro a couple times a week just for fun, but I started having this really uncomfortable ringing in my ears, almost like one of my ears is fuzzy/clogged, but I can't pop it. I stopped taking Vics about 3 days ago, and my ears are still exactly the same, which is really worrying me.

I've done plenty of research, but I'm trying to figure out is hearing loss from the Hydrocodone, the acetaminophen, or both? I didn't CWE these pills, so I was just taking them whole. Also, is this hearing "damage", or is this just a side effect that will go away after a few weeks or something?

Too much acetaminophen or aspirin can have that affect.

Actually, the codeine-based opiates have been known to cause hearing loss.

Stop dosing, the tinnitus should subside and your hearing hopefully should return to normal.

while i have had the sensation many times after an intense, and most likely near fatal, heroin shot i believe yours is from a sickness and not the hydro itself.


also hearing loss has been associated with IV heroin use but i dont know about hydrocodone.

What I said above is true though, I used to be a paramedic, and learned that in school. But it doesn't mean that's what's causing it in this case, just a possibility.

I have really good hearing, but when I take hydrocodone I can hear like a ninja. I don't know whey Hydrocodone makes you guys deaf.

My ears do this from time to time.. then they pop and my hearing returns to normal or everything seems louder.. I don't know why this happens it just does..

It make the ringing from electronics like the t.v. more apparent, It can drive me insane If I don't unplug what is ringing...

Seriously, read the link I posted. Hydrocone itself causes it, along with Codiene and Oxycodone (to some extent). APAP exacerbates the effect as well.

It's the APAP.

Most of common formulations always have a shit load of it...

It's known to be toxic to something in your inner ear with heavy-dose long-term usage.. I'm looking some more shit up.

high dosage of acetaminophen (4g) is dangerous for the liver that's the point. Never heard about hearing problems. Consult quickly your doctor !
