Injecting in hands

I'm only injecting a few times on weekends. Like you said, its kind of a waste because its over so fast, but still a fun novelty for a bit.

On the other hand, I'm glad to know how to give myself a shot of dilaudid in case of emergency, like an occurrence of kidney stone, which has happened to me twice already.

i want you to know that getting an infection in your hand is very dangerous, as there are several compartments that will not allow expansion of tissues during inflammation. look up "compartment syndrome". you are running the risk of killing your hand before you even know its time to head to the ER.

Thanks for the heads up, Onmyway. Like I said, I have since discovered a larger vein along the side of my wrist that starts in the hand but gets larger by the wrist area. This one is perfect for me and I now manage to hit with much more precision. I know it may not be as good as a vein deep in the arm, but its still better than digging into the tops of my hands.

Ultimately, this will have to do since a really can't find veins in my arms. Nurses usually have trouble so I ain't even bothering. Hitting the vein I found 2 or 3 times a week (and switching between left and right) seems relatively safe.
