ok, so SWIM is a former heroin addict, IVing being the only form of administration. her inner elbow veins were her favorite, like most people, and thankfully held out for her whole heroin phase.
now she's on meth, IVing it as well. she would never use her hands because when she would shoot heroin in her hand, she would typically miss a little, which isn't a big deal on heroin, but meth misses hurt.!
she had horiable injecting habbits and caused some major damage to her veins. recently, her inner elbow have become unusable and so she decided to give the hands a shot again.. it actually went great..only slightly missed once and was gettiin it good.!
shortly after her first hit or two n the hands, her inner elbow started feeling funny. and with each shot started hurting more and more. not anything too unbearable, but defiantly discomfort..
after a few days of using her hands, she started realizing that it wasn't hitting her as fast, but as soon as her elbow started hurting, she would finally get the rush. after a few more days, instead of getting that big rush eventually, she would get little spllurts of the shot. The first time this happened, she thought she just didn't do a big enough shot, or it wasn't good meth, so she did more and more shots till she felt good, but after that the spllurts of meth kept coming through and were making it too much, unenjoyae, and a little scary from not knowing when they're gonna stop and how intense or possibly deadly her night could have ended up.,
Anymore, SWIM still uses her hands, but she knows she has to stop injecting way before she starts feeling good and just be patient , eventually she reacheds the feeling she loves.
I'm no Ddoctor or vein specialist, just an adverage tweaker looking up all blogs drug related. But it seams like it might just be the elbow veins are so damaged, that between shrinking, scar tissue, and clots and whatnot, they're thinner and not as clear of a path and don't let meth pass as quickly.
I couldn't find another situations like this online, but I'm sure this has happened to more than just SWIM and like her wants to read a dissuasion on it, and maybe find out more about what causes it, if it's actually creates more damage to the vein,, and more long term effects of continuing to use the hands with something like this happening..

It would seem as though you may have hit a nerve that travels up your arm. You'd do better if you posted this in Other Drugs.. this is Drug Culture which is more of a light-hearted atmosphere. Oh and we don't swim here.
