I'm 56 and diagnosed w/advanced osteoporosis. (Has gotten better; now osteopenia, less advanced form). Besides Actonel & Fosamax, my lab work indicated I needed to be injecting testosterone, a very necessary component to help balance out calcium loss & bone rebuilding. I am wondering what is the opinion of any professionals on this site as to how many mg, and how often YOU think would be the optimum dosage and interval for me to be taking this. I buy a 10ml bottle of 2000 mg per ml for about 60 bucks and use anywhere from 1/2ml to 1ml, (1000 to 2000mg), every 10 days to 3 weeks, depending on how I feel emotionally...if I am feeling abnormally depressed, I use accordingly. I cannot afford to have labwork done every month or two. I am concerned about if this amount is enough, too much, and if I am causing what little natural testo production I have to dry up. Advice please? thanks!

Did your doctor tell you that you needed to use test for osteoporosis or are you deciding this on your own based on the lab work? If a doctor told you this and prescribed it, then you need to go off of the advice and prescribed dosages you were given by him/her. The use of test and other AAS for bodybuilding purposes is much much different than what would be used for HRT/TRT, and more specifically in your case, HRT/TRT for the prevention of male osteoporosis. HRT/TRT is a lifelong step and is tailored to your specific needs/requirements. You are not going to just be able to use a little bit of test every so often and then stop and hope your problems are fixed. You will need to inject for the rest of your life, but this is something that should be prescribed by and monitored by a doctor, not coming on an internet forum asking for advice.

I'm assuming you are male, but if you are a female do not use test for this purpose as female osteoporosis is treated in other ways.

I think you need to check the vial you have, as the 2000 mg/ml should be 200 mg/ml. Don't know of any test out there dosed at 2000 mg/ml as that would be immensely painful to inject I would imagine.

Sorry, I know that is not exactly what you were looking for, but the fact is nobody on here is qualified to give you the answers you are looking for in this situation. Even if there are some medical doctors on here, they would need much more information about you and your situation to provide quality and accurate answers.

+1^ We need more info to help you...kindly read the rules and guidelines that we have here. We will be more than happy to help you if we can, but we need to know more about you and your body before we can start throwing advice at you.

Just some simple advice. Have you heard of Wolff's law?

If not go and read up on it, in a nutshell bone mass is correlated to the loads placed on them...go place some loads on those bones!

What was your Test readings? Your talking about taking body building size doses of Test!
Test patches for medical use is about 2.5mg/5mg per day! Why would you need more....plus back to Wolff's law, no extra load no increased bone density. Do you think taking Test without weight training would cure the Osteoporosis?
Its like the myth that kids have that all they need to get big is take steroids, no, its a shit loads of weight lifting and diet makes you big!

For you I would try some weight lifting and sorting your diet out, plenty of essential fatty acids i.e Omega 3 (these WILL raise your natural Test) ZMA etc.

If that doesn't work get doc to prescribe Test patches...if that's what he recommends!

On Pub Med there is an article about DHEA and Osteoporosis..and sadly it showed it did increase Test in males (what your after)....but no increased bone density. Sadly article didn't mention if they were weight training during trials, I can't see how increased Test and exercise wouldn't help! So maybe DHEA is a cheap supp to try. Weirdly DHEA worked wonders for females!

In summary diet and weight lifting for the win.
