heres a little information about SWIM. SWIM is 5'7' and 112 pounds (very skinny) and has a history with inhalants beginning when he was 7, (hes almost 20).

SWIM knows that lighter fluid contains the psychoactive chemical "butane" which gets you high in Ronsonol products. SWIM was wondering if instead of just huffing the fumes, he could injest the chemical intranasally (insufflation), like taking nose-drops. To do this he tilted his head back, and pointed the nosil of the bottle in each nostril and let it drip. He didn't do very much because he wanted to make certain he didn't get sick or anything. surpisingly there wasn't even a burn of the slightest, it felt cold and tickled. he didn't feel high from it, and was wondering if he needed a higher dose (given his past experience he has a larger tolerance than some people even tho he's skinny) At the same time, he didn't want to do anything stupid and wake up in the hospital, so he wants to know if SWIY knows if this should make him feel intoxicated before reaching dangerously high dose.

one other thing. how long should swim wait before smoking a cigarette after a time of doing this? is blowing up a serious risk to SWIM's health or should he be safe?

**DISCLAIMER* if SWIY wants a legal high, there's a million safer alternatives to any inhalant. If SWIY tries once there is a 25% chance of SSDS (Sudden Sniffing Death Syndrome)! SWIM was young, and unaware, and now he has tried many times to quit, inhalants have fucked up his life and he regrets it but he can't get away, DON'T GO DOWN THIS ROAD!

Butane is a gas at room temperature, attempting to insufflate the liquid will lead to frostbite where the butane evaporates. And it's generally a shitty way of administering it seeing as the butane will dissolve the fats in your skin/mucous membranes.

Also, the intoxicating effects of butane and other hydrocarbons are inseperable from the terrible damge they do to nerves, etc. It is stupid to inhale butane.

There is no harm reduction value in saying anything but: don't inhale butane. At all.

Also, no SWIMMING!

Closing this.
