Benzos Inexperienced benzo user. Not sure how to go about this.

The benzo in question is cinolazepam (gerodorm). It comes in 40 mg pills. The fact is I kinda have an irrational fear of taking the pills as prescribed.

I am hypersensitive in regards to the psychoactive effects of the drugs I've tried, so I've always started low. As an example: I get high off 30-60 mg codeine, I smoke 0.5 g of weed in 2-3 sessions (sharing it with a friend), I easily get drunk and even caffeine gives me a pretty strong buzz.

So I don't feel comfortable taking a whole pill, to begin with. From what I can gather, it's a bit stronger than bromazepam, which I once took 1.5 mg of and felt chill, relaxed and enjoyed some psychedelic animation movie. 40 mg cinolazepam is equivalent to 10 mg diazepam. So, that makes it equivalent to 6 mg of bromazepam. It seems a lot more than what I already have experience with. I would honestly be more comfortable with taking 1/4 of a pill for a start. And then subsequently up the dose as needed.

Not being very experienced with benzos, I'm wary about not doing any stupid thing. It's also a short-acting benzo, as opposed to bromazepam, which is long-acting. Is it a good idea to take 1/4 or 1/2 of the pill? Even if it doesn't have much of an effect, it will alleviate my fears and enable me to up the dose as required. I just want to know if what I have in mind would be an absolute no-no (I cannot think of any reasons why it could be). This is not about achieving any medical or recreational effects, just to help me lower my anxiety about this treatment...

There doesn't seem to be much information on this one. I don't see any reason why you couldn't take a lower dose. It has a 9 hour half-life which puts it right in the middle of the 6-12 for alprazolam but that doesn't really mean anything - lorazepam has the same half-life as bromazepam and I and many others find it to have a shorter duration of action than Xanax does.

Unless it says that you can not split the pills, I don't see any harm in doing so.

No, on the leaflet it actually says that people with impaired liver or kidney function should start off by taking 1/2 of the pill. There's nothing about taking only 1/4 of it, but, if you take 1/2, then why couldn't you take 1/4?

The fact that there's not much info about it makes me apprehensive. If I can research what I put into my body and my brain, be it a recreational substance or a medically prescribed drug, I am much more at peace.

Thank you for helping me out.

Those leaflets you get from chemist don't have all the details and its sad they leave out one MAJOR important interaction a certain drug can cause while taking other certain drugs.

Hopefully I will get this changed tomorrow when i pick up my script

It is inexplicable to me why you pose this question to randos on the interwebz as opposed to asking your doctor.

I thought that was the point of harm reduction, anyway... the very reason forums like these existed. And mainly because I also want to have an inkling about what experienced drug users might think of this issue. I've been on harm reduction forums for two years and the info I learned in here has always helped me in regards to opiates and weed, that's all.

Start with 1/4 if you feel more secure, but probably you'll feel nothing... Then take 1/2 when you feel like and a full pill after you built some tolerance (assuming that 1/2 is enough for you).

Dr. Opium.

Just titrate up form a dose you know you are comfortable taking. You can always take more, and benzos have no upside to taking it all at once (i.e. it hitting you hard, like opiates).

Take a fourth of the pill, then a half sometime in the future. It's not uncommon to be aprehensive about taking medication. It's always better to be cautious with drugs. If it makes you feel any better, benzos are fairly safe on their own in terms of causing an OD without combined with other drugs. Now you may could blackout and do something stupid. If you are worried about treatment then speak to your doctor.

Well sorry, cause i don't really chill to give an advice,or to help (cause i can't..), but getting high with 1.5mg bromazepam? Wow, my fuckin luck...
