Im in a messed up situation, my amazing partner has screwed me over beautifully.

Ok so basically ive been using drugs for the last 4 years now, have experimented with all, but i guess ice is my DOC, however, its come to a point where i can no longer watch my family suffer after the bullshit ive put them through, so im being a man and finally going to get the help i need to return to my former healthy self

I hate to sound like another generic anxiety sufferer, however, ive always had debilitating anxiety prior to ever using drugs (obviously the symptoms have been exacerbated)

Ive been seeing my doctor for the last year and a half, im prescribed 2mg xanax and 100mg seroquel.

So whats actually happened is about 2 weeks ago, i went to my usual chemist to get my repeat, but somehow, they managed to lose/misplace my script with 3 repeats on it :/

Cutting long story short, chemist rung her and explained the situation, so i went and saw her last week and she gave me another prescription but on private because she couldn't issue me another one on authority because it was still within a certain time period (i hope that makes sense)

Anyway so i go to a different chemist and fill the script, and for whatever reason, i dont know why i didnt just leave them my script to have on file, so i took it home with me.

Because ive told my partner im going to get professional help, what does the fuck wit do ? LITERALLY TEARS UP THE BRAND NEW SCRIPT IN FRONT OF ME !!!!!!!!
His justification was that his doing me a favor and giving me a head start, and ill be thanking him later.

You could just imagine the brawling that transpired, that was supposed to last me til Aug/Sep.

So im officially fucking screwed now. I cant go back to her and say waddup doc, my bf tore my new script to shreds, could i pretty please have another one? Noooooooooooooo Chanceeeeeeeeeeeee.

Im also wanting to get a referral to see a psychiatrist specializing in addiction, should i be honest and tell him my situation? or will i just be just another junkie with some bullshit story looking for more bricks ?

I have no idea what to do ? or if theres anything that i even can do ?

Firstly, if you've been taking 2mg of xanax a day for the last year and a half, you absolutely need to go back to your doctor, because you're at risk of painful and possibly dangerous withdrawals. Take the torn up script, take your partner ( first have him google the symptoms of 'benzodiazepine withdrawal*' so he can see just how much of a ''favor'' he's done you), have your partner own up to what they did to the doctor, and go from there. Hopefully it can be established that the script was never filled and your doctor will do the right thing, going cold turkey off 18 months of benzo use is a very, very bad idea, even at a low - moderate dose, and if your doctor discontinues you suddenly you could be at serious risk.

*An abrupt or over-rapid discontinuation of benzodiazepines may result in a more serious and very unpleasant withdrawal syndrome that may additionally result in:

Catatonia, which may result in death[57][58][59]
Confusion[60]
Convulsions, which may result in death[61][62]
Coma[63] (rare)

Not questioning your story , but even coming from a users standpoint this seems fishy, from a doctors view you are shit out of luck.

Even if the chemist misplaced the script with repeats you should still have had a copy of the script with repeats which could be taken and filled at any chemist.
Do you have the torn up replacement script? surely if it was so concerning you could have kept the pieces to take to your gp as proof.

The long and short of it is that you are asking how to obtain drugs, which is regardless of your situation against forum rules.
My advice would be to approach your usual GP or addiction specialist and be honest. Xanax is also now more restricted so you may have an easier time switching to a less abusable benzo.

I would hardly call that a post that is trying to obtain drugs. The guy with over 5000 posts above you didnt seem to mention it either. Stranger things have happened to people and i feel bad for this person. Thats a shitty situation esp when people get all high and mighty, thinking they know best by putting you on a road they think is best for you. Tearing up the script is inexcusable and i hope you let him have it.

OP that is a terrible situation that you are in, as Crankinit pointed out, you really need to get some benzo's ASAP given your history or you could face serious withdrawal. I feel your only option is to go back to your doctor with the torn up script and perhaps your partner to explain what happened. If that fails then perhaps you could go to a hospital when withdrawal sets in and explain your situation to them, I kinda doubt they would give you much but as a last resort it may be worth a shot. The only other option I can think of would be if you can obtain some sort of benzo on the black market.

Much as I feel for the OP, I don't see that I can leave this thread open, the only advice anyone could give other than the advice already given would pretty much amount to a how to on doctor shopping benzo's, which we obviously can't allow. For that reason I am closing the thread.
