Hey all. I am just wondering why there is practically NOTHING on the forum about the new oxymorphone ER generics released this year? I just wanted to pick someones brain in regards to why on earth they are so ineffective?! I am prescribed 10mg IR and 20mg ER both generic. I swear I have tried snorting the 20mg ERs at doses as much as 100mg at a time and....nothing..nada. I only take the 10mg ir 4XD. I don't take the ER's. I get 90 a month and just save them up, hoping that once in a while I can get a buzz off them, but it never happens. I take the coating off with alcohol and well, snort them, basically all there is to it. Why are they so ineffective? I have heard a lot of scare tactics going around about snorting the ERs with regard to it basically being compared to having the same effects on your lungs as snorting baby powder, but that has not been susbstantiated so far by any exclusive research studies. Anyway, was hoping someone could give me some insights about why I am not getting a buzz, tips, etc. Although I really don't think there is any more to it, but hey worth a shot.

Oxymorphone ER is finicky. Basically, if any of it gets moist before it is absorbed, it gels and is wasted. This can happen if you swallow it or snort it. They are just a really horrible preparation that barely even work. When the ER formula hits liquid it totally gels so it's very tricky to be able to snort it properly and actually absorb any of it. I would have to go through a huge process with oxymorphER every time i used it and it still was a waste of resource.

I was recently prescribed generic Oxymorphone ER 15mg. My doc mentioned that the generic doesn't have the gelling precaution and can be abused much easier so I should be careful with my pills, not let ppl know I have them, etc. I'm not on a high enough dose but can't go back to my doc for a month. How do I get a stronger dose out of my generic prescription? Has anyone had luck with the generic version? Just breaking them and scraping the top layer off doesn't seem to make them much stronger. My 15 mg is a round white tab with a cursive looking D engraved on one side and 262 on the other. Any advice is much appreciated.

My pain management doc reluctantly put me on Opana ER 20mg twice daily a month ago. Knowing what I did about the brand name Endo tabs, I called my local pharmacy and asked them if they'd order the new generics from Global/Impax. They had no problem with my request! In my experience, they are just as good as the old original stop signs. Completely crushable. 100% snortable. My only gripe is that if any water comes into contact they get sticky and gel up immediately. This was a feature of the original stop signs too though...

My pills are green and have "G73" imprint. Good stuff. Will be asking for a higher dosage however. Would love the 40's...

Maybe you could try a combo of both, eat an ER and 10-15 mins later snort one IR,that could result in a faster onset because of the IR snort while boosting the ERs you ate..

If the new generic Impax are like the old Timer-X system, they are easily defeated with 91% IPA. Yes, they gel instantly with water, they DONT gel with 91% IPA: one of the gelling agents and a bunch of inactive garbage settles out. Decant the liquid into a bowl, microwave until gone, add water to empty bowl, skim off other gelling agent; voila! Damn near IV grade oxymorphone, which can be eaten, snorted, plugged (dunno about smoked).

Snorting them w/o getting rid of the gelling agents gives "Opana Boogers", which suck and cause a LOT of the drug to be lost.
