Imagine a mountain
You spend your whole life climbing it
Maybe you find a place to rest for a while
But at every moment of inspiration
You move a little further and let go of something
You’re home is way under you
And an impenetrable blizzard blows before you
You must find help at almost every step of the way
But everyone you encounter is either a stranger or doesn’t care about you
Some are jammed in their little hole on the mountain
Building a tiny world in the chaos
The top of the mountain tosses down more and more every day
Not wealth or food or clothes or shoes
Have-nots
See the mountain is shrinking from top down and the bottom up
The storm is getting more furious
And those who used to help
Will cut your throat first
The funniest part is
That we never had to climb a mountain
You spend your whole life climbing it
Maybe you find a place to rest for a while
But at every moment of inspiration
You move a little further and let go of something
You’re home is way under you
And an impenetrable blizzard blows before you
You must find help at almost every step of the way
But everyone you encounter is either a stranger or doesn’t care about you
Some are jammed in their little hole on the mountain
Building a tiny world in the chaos
