i will wear my black dress, the one with the off-center ruffle down the bodice and the swanky skirt, with my black dress shoes. you will wear your black pinstripe suit, and perhaps the wingtips i found in your closet. my constant bed-head will dare the wind to screw it up, while yours will be covered with a fedora.
we'll go out for a night on the town, party party all the time. have a martini, gin & tonic, maybe a whisky & water or three of each. we'll swing, and sway, and stumble on the streets, fawning all over each other and saying 'screw you!' to the old people on the corner who give us strange looks.
i'll probably fall at some point, and you'll try to pick me up, but i'll pull you down on top of me and we'll kiss under the street lamp on the concrete still warm from the afternoon. it will inevitably start to rain, and of course we didn't wear coats, so we'll dart from awning to awning all the way down the avenue, swinging, swaying, and stumbling the whole way.
when we make it back to my apartment, of course we will need to get you out of these wet clothes and into something more dry. by the time i will have taken your shirt off, you'll kiss my neck and i lose concentration. by the time you will have taken my shirt off, you'll kiss my stomach and i lose reality. by the time we will have made it to my bed i'll lose control.
we'll everywhere and nowhere, swinging, swaying, and stumbling all over each other. legs wrapped around each other and getting tangled in the sheets, arms lost between bodies and skin, hands grasping for anything stable, and lips covering our every inch, bare or covered. we'll writhe and rise together and tumble and fall. we'll be everywhere and nowhere.
and we'll be gone.
